We badly needed this. We at least now have an experienced Premier League operator whilst Woltemade gets himself up to speed.

Ideally we'd have sorted all this nonsense out before the season began, but as an overall window, the signings look good on paper.

- We've offloaded Wilson and replaced him with Wissa.
- Let Isak go for a big profit and brought in a big future prospect (even if he was rather far down the shopping list...)
- Bit of extra muscle in midfield with Ramsey.
- Upgraded Murphy (who was arguably the weakest position in our best 11) with Elanga, which means we have some proper depth on both wings now.
- Added some extra talent to our centre back pool with Thiaw.
- Arguably improved our GK pool with Ramsdale (given Pope's tendency to knacker a shoulder, this could be important) on loan.

On top of that, we've cleared away some players who were falling down the pecking order or aging out and weirdly made some solid profit on Lloyd Kelly.

I think we might be a bit crap and unsettled for a few more weeks yet, but there's some promise here.

Well, until we start playing CL and everyone gets broken.
