Amorim and Russell Martin job swap, who says no?

I’m not entirely Amorim in or out, it’s an incredibly complex situation and I think you could argue it either way, but it would sure be nice to never see United play three at the back again

De Gea left so Onana could walk. For 50m!

I really like Amorim, but at this point the United job is just a cursed mess. Until ownership get out of their own way and clean things up, I don’t know if there’s any manager that can come in there and fix everything.

He's not helped by his keepers regularly throwing it in their own net, but it's definitely getting to the point that it's hard to identify any progression or benefit he's brought, despite other issues. Hard to think literally anyone else would be doing worse with the squad.

Ange going to United would be hilarious but also I’d feel bad

    I have an idea.

Why don’t United get a really promising manager who is wed to a specific system that their squad is totally unsuited for? And then spend upwards of £150m on players before they sack him and start over?

Not sure they’ve tried that yet.

Could be worse. Rangers are 6-0 down (9-1 agg) with half an hour to go.

Yeah I think you look at someone like Frank and his ability to get an immediate tune out of the Spurs squad speaks volumes. Even if Amorim finds success I just don’t like the idea of committing to a system that overloads your squad with specialist role players and cripples your ability to pivot away from said system. Thankfully the likes of Mbeumo and Cunha should be able to pivot to the wide forward roles utilized in pretty much every modern 433/4231 formation but I’d rather not go much further down the three at the back rabbit hole especially if the football is still so turgid and aimless this far in.

Apropos of nothing, the font on the back of the United kit is really nice.

de Ligt as the right center back being the furthest forward player and being the one to get shots on target is real “Mazraoui as a number 10” levels of losing the plot

Mansfield didn't get a shot on target. Very professional job. Harrison Armstrong got 2x assists, should of had 3 but he was selfish in the first half.
