Very, very good player. Don’t love him as a personality but I suspect he’s one of them you love when he’s on your team. If this happens, our midfield rotation will be Rice, Zubimendi, Guimaraes, Lewis Skelly, and Merino. Which is pretty stacked.
I love Bruno. Hate he’s going to Arsenal. I was a big fan of the Newcastle midfield and they both bailed lol what is happening there? Do they not like Howe’s tactics?
Just a guess, but I imagine a lot of these players signed on early in the project and thought that by now they would at worst be CL regulars and pushing on towards competing with the top three. Seems like the club is a bit of a mess right now thanks to poor recruitment, PSR issues, and the Saudi owners seeming disinterested.
I feel bad for them as well. They are losing two fan favorites and it’s fairly random. But, at least they’re getting very good fees for these guys (including Gordon in this). They should be able to re-stock fairly well and be ok.
I thought the 60m price tag seemed low. But he is 29 so I do think it’ll come in lower than Tonali. I can’t see them getting 100m for both guys. But also, now that they’ve already sold Tonali, they may be more stubborn with Bruno.

So errr, we can just field shirts stuffed with cash right, that'll work. I didn't care that Gordon went. That was good business and it was obvious from the day he signed how things would play out. Tonali hurts a bit, because he's fantastic, but it's great business. Bruno is kind of gutting and will really mess us up. We were so much worse when he wasn't available last year. I don't think it's much of a sign about Howe (although I think he maybe should have gone), but all of those players have to go somewhere else now to either peak, collect a bigger paycheck or collect trophies. I look forward to us spending £200m on our 4th choice option in every position and having a whole team of Elangas.
