I know shops. public transport, etc generally have relaxed hours on a Sunday in the UK but has Scotland got any plans in place to navigate the fact a sizable part of the population will be "unfit to function" throughout the day? lol

We have a bank holiday on Monday which apparently navigates it? Although it is optional but my work are doing it thankfully :crylaugh: It's business as usual for all the infrastructure apart from that, we don't really have the same relaxed sunday approach on our supermarkets/shops here but the public transport does Sunday Service but only the bus services are accommodating the late kick off to get people home and the trains haven't got any different approach.

Buses here are every hour on a Sunday between 10am-5pm. Supermarkets have those opening hours, too. Trains are hourly.

Good for you that your work is embracing the Bank Holiday! Get some tins in haha

I know this is something we usually say about teams like Spain, but I legit think we looked so good it made them look worse. Especially in the first half. Our friendly with them last fall was a 2-1 win that was much closer in quality (only 4 shared starters on our side, though).

  5. It’s probably the best I’ve ever seen us play

I keep seeing people talking about the things they wish Freddy could experience, and the Pop Tart sacrifice is the most consistently mentioned and it’s killing me

  9. Our pop tart sacrifice might be peak sports here though

I went to Homestead the year Dale died and it’s the most emotional I’ve ever seen a group of rednecks ever get. It rained. Mud was everywhere.

I’m glad some Europeans who have never been to America are discovering that despite it’s issues, it’s actually not how it’s depicted online.

I’m hopeful the same thing will happen in 2028 when the UK cohosts the Euros with Ireland. No country is perfect, but there’s also something to discover and enjoy everywhere.

Bradley Barcola is leaving PSG and apparently Liverpool and Arsenal are in for him.

I honestly don’t know how I feel about it.

Strong links to Hall the last few days as well. Really glad we’re not looking at any more pure 6/destroyer types, and equally glad we’re looking to bring in Shaw’s successor as well.

  15. Spurs keep getting linked to Gapko and I don’t know how to feel about it. I know the general consensus is that he stinks but I think there’s a good player somewhere in there.

Gakpo is best as a rotational/depth piece rather than as an everyday starter. Last season when Liverpool won the league, Gakpo had a really good season, buoyed of course by Salah having one of the best seasons all time in PL history. But also because Liverpool had attacking depth to rotate with on the left wing or as a striker. We had Luis Diaz, Jota, and Nunez who could all do bits, so having Gakpo as your 4th-6th attacking option was awesome

This season, it was solely Gakpo and then a literal child, albeit prodigal, in Rio Ngumoha, thus Gakpo sort of got run into the ground and his weaknesses start to show

However, he can be really frustrating. I’ve never seen a 6’4” player use their height or stature to their advantage less and he sometimes needs a bit of room to get up to top speed, which can be difficult as space gets closed down upon so quickly in the PL

He’s got a good dead ball delivery, really sharp shooting radius when in and around the box, and a good long shot or shot from the top corner of the box to the far corner of the goal

Definitely an excellent player on his day, but I wouldn’t want him leading the line. And I’d be very happy for him to move on to Spurs or elsewhere except for the fact that Liverpool have so so so much work to do this summer and adding one more thing to the list seems foolish after the squad building calamity last summer

Honestly wild how bad he was at United given how brilliant he was for Sporting tbf. Wouldn’t surprised me if he did well at Milan somehow.

Leao has done a runner before Amorim has even got to the office.

He'll do well at whichever club he goes to next as he'll get the "freed from United" buff that everyone seems to receive. Italy live a 3ATB too.

  23. Yeah, this makes me kinda out on him. We have enough guys destined to be rotational players. We need better starters. And the valuation I’ve seen for Gapko is nuts.

Whilst we are currently heavily rumoured for him, I think he’ll go PSG. I think we just have other priorities.
