Someone tried to schedule a meeting during the opening match at work and I asked how married to that time slot we were. Got it moved, haha.
@Swoos may be able to relate here because he watches lower level Football/Soccer in the flesh with Charlotte (no offence, but it's not quite PL quality), but after going to watch Bolton games this calendar year I can say with assurance that the vast majority of these World Cup games will be worth watching if I want to call myself a fan of the game. I know things like VAR can get in the way and ruin the spectacle, but purely from a "quality" perspective I'm excited for the ones I can watch live that are not on at silly o'clock. I work with someone who said he's legitimately only going to start watching non-England games once the knockouts start because he's worried about this aforementioned "quality". I find that completely disrespectful and it goes against the grain of what being a fan of this sport is all about imo.
Costa Rica 2014 is exactly why you can’t claim quality, etc. is stuck to just a few leagues. Look at those England, Uruguay, and Italy squads.
There will definitely be some bad games in the group stage but that is the case for the early stages of any tournament. But I will be approaching every game with optimism haha My top 5 most anticipated group matches between non-powerhouse teams: Mexico v South Korea Haiti v Scotland Ecuador v Ivory Coast Norway v Senegal Austria v Algeria
I love watching the games between the “worse” teams because it usually means more to them. I don’t particularly like this expanded format, but it has given us the likes of Jordan, Curucao, Cape Verde, Scotland (kidding) etc.
Kulusevski posting videos of him playing basketball and soccer… Would be such a big boost if he’s actually back for the start of next season.
If this is true, love to see it. I was seeing stuff about Chelsea going for him so they can loan him to Strasborg. But he ultimately made the smart decision for his development imo. (I have no clue if he’s good haha just been following the rumors) edit: it has been confirmed by the club
So there is a EPL version of the World Cup game… 38-0 — Build The Greatest Premier League XI This has been my best attempt after like 10 tries haha
Side note, I have a Chile away kit with Alexis Sanchez on the back, even though I don’t know if he plays for them anymore, but it’s pretty cool!
I wonder if WC games will start on time. America loves listing a start time and not starting games for 10-15 mins after said start time.
Last call up was in June 2025. Chile's best prospect these days plays for...Midtjylland and he's linked to Everton. Dario Osorio.
They also have a few other decent prospects too called Lucas Assadi & something Tapia, but none of them look as good as the last generation. I used to work with a Chilean dude so I find myself looking out for their results lol.
Did the US hire the stadium announcer from RB Leipzig for this friendly? He has a similar awkward screaming voice.
