Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

If we're set up this way (whatever we've even been trying to do?) to grind out results away against the big six then whatever, but if we continue to play this way outside of those matches then it's very worrying.

Think we probably needed Norgaard on to calm down the game but he wasn't even in the squad?

3 points is all Arteta will care about in a fixture like this v a classic big 4/6 club, too. It's in his years of schooling under Moyes who was never one for entertainment as a priority.

If it's the same v Leeds at home, start the worrying.

You posted this literally as I did. Spooky.

  5. I’m hate to harp on the keeper thing but I really don’t understand why players are allowed shove a keeper out of the way. If a player and a keeper coming together causes the keeper to be knocked out of position, then I think the “be stronger” argument is fair. But a guy not going for the ball and whose soul task is to shove the keeper out of the way? No. That’s booty.

Nah he missed all of pre-season and only came back to training on Thursday. He was “fit” but not actually fit.

Weird game. Arsenal so poor, offered absolutely nothing going forward and scored from either a blunder or a foul depending on your allegiance. United should have scored a couple in the first half, and should have had a penalty in the 90th minute. It is what it is, really encouraging performance compared to last year though. Dorgu looks to be good going forward.

Really strange that United started the worst keeper in the league, and Arsenal just chose not to test him at all?

We don’t give away enough set pieces after the goal for them to truly test him ;-p

Absolutely. He definitely tried to stodge these matches up, and it clearly works because we have the best record against “big six” teams by a country mile. He’s very pragmatic and wants to win, above all.

I also think there’s an element of knowing how many games we’ll play this year and what a tough start we have.

  12. I’m just glad we are back. Now time for Everton’s top half finish to begin tomorrow.

    I’m only semi-serious. Hehe.

You drew the same match last season. Arteta IN!

As an aside, have you seen Mikel’s interview with Men In Blazers? Got recommended to me when I don’t watch their stuff normally, and it was a great video. He has a great interview technique.

Anyway, at the end Mikel refers to “our Everton”, which the Evertonian interviewer calls the best moment he’s had doing the show haha.

Yeah, saw that. I love MIB!

I have no issue with Arteta. Some fans think he jumped ship in a big way leaving the way he did on deadline day, but I blame the situation at the club for not helping him achieve his ambitions. It's clear Arteta wanted to win when he accepted lower wages/bonuses.

United toxicity already starting with Roy Keane being the most miserable man of all time on TV on Sky right now.

  20. The more I see the replay, the more I don’t understand why the Saliba challenge wasn’t a penalty.

Fun fact, this season the furthest easterly premier league team is West Ham.
