I understand why they’re doing it today and there is still plenty to celebrate, but it’s gotta feel a little weird doing a parade so soon after such a tough loss. I suppose it could be a good away to shake it off.
It's pretty wild, England's World Cup camp starts tomorrow (and I imagine the other nation's camps start then to?) There's just no rest!
How many people playing in the World Cup also played in the club World Cup last summer? They’re playing like 2 years straight if they stay healthy next year
And yet Pulisic got shit for saying “I need this summer off so I can be good for the World Cup next summer.” Like. The game calendar needs immense reform.
Best part of the final was the ref blowing for half time because Arsenal were taking their sweet time taking a corner and not respecting the exceeded stoppage time.
Yeah, I always think it is. Brazilians going to Russia is another one, although you could argue those guys are brave wanting to experience the dramatic differences in culture in the name of money.
Haha yes I was indeed. I ended up next to Finsbury Park near the Twelve Pins. Crazy, never seen so many people and the vibes were unbelievable. A cafe & florist there was doing Jamaican rum punch for £7, and someone made a killing on red flares cause they were going off every minute ha. Was amazing to see people of every age, sex, race, and religion out celebrating Arsenal.
In short: an Icelandic player took longer than 10 seconds to leave the pitch so the referee implemented the new rule which meant they had to play with 10 men for 1 minute. Japan scored in that 1 minute. It's being implemented at the WC.
This Reddit comment, from a Spurs fan no less, about today really says it better than I could. I’ve never seen anything like it (I’m sure Liverpool’s was similar, though they’d probably claim to have invented parades like the bores that they are). Every element and demographic out in Arsenal shirts, celebrating, hugging, drinking, sharing each other’s culture. When the players bus turned up I ended up in a hug with these two girls in their 20s and one of their dads, who I’d been talking to. Just great vibes. https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/hqpg6foa00
This walking bowl of porridge makes a great point on how today's march showed what London is, at its multi cultural best vs the shit that Tommy and his goons constantly try to belittle about the capital (and England as a whole)
USA v Senegal about to start. This will be a good test for the US heading into the tournament. I have such low expectations.
Christ, I forgot all about that. Incredibly unlucky for the fanbase given their only other PL was during covid.
I hate this formation so much, but it’s 100% Poch. Think it would be better with Weah in for Reyna and McKennie in for Berhalter. Pepi/Balogun toss-up. (I also think these subs is the starting XI vs Türkiye.)
Decent outing before the tournament. Gives me a little more confidence that we met expectations and get out of our group. It’s not a hard group but fairly balanced.
