Feel for Eze. Seems a good lad. His DMs are going to be predictably horrendous with the absolute worst people I'm sure too...
Raya save was great in the shootout but Eze’s stupid run up was killer in the end. Surprised Gabriel took the last, would be querying the gut of some of the other Arsenal players on the pitch
Shouldn't need to be said, but I hope the Arsenal community rally around to support Gabriel instead of going down the opposite direction that no doubt some cretins will.
I will say it’s a bit funny after PSG having like four controversial penalty/not penalty moments vs Bayern… the only way they could make it across the finish line was more of the same.
I should be clear I don't wish anything ill on him. Just frustrating to see a quality player do something so poor.
That was one of the better finals in awhile. One of the more consistently intense low scoring games I’ve seen.
I’ve seen him miss a couple of penalties like that at Palace last season. I joked to my mates before the shootout that he shouldn’t take a penalty, hoping he wouldn’t actually take one. Only Arsenal player I’m genuinely gutted for because he’s the nicest guy in the world
Not that it makes it any easier to swallow for Arsenal fans, but they were in no point the worse team in the match and I think that if Timber and Calafiori are fully healthy, y’all probably easily win that one.
I’d also say this sets up pretty well for Arsenal to win CL next year. They finally won the league title. Came super close to CL. Next season the pressure of winning PL will be lessened and the experience they have from this CL run will result in them winning it.
Stats aren't pretty reading for Arsenal like. Less than 200 passes over 120 minutes, 1 shot on target, 25% possession, and time wasting from the 6th minute onwards. Got to wonder if they'd won if they'd been a bit more positive...
I’m with you on this but really don’t want to gloss over the Visit Rwanda sponsored club that employed and supported a rapist while also firing staff over pro Palestine posts
I was thinking this too. Any time they went forward they looked threatening. But I also get being nervous to open up for that PSG attack.
