I despise the man, but I have to admire the neck of brass Marinakis has.

    He doesn't give a fuck.

I think Brighton finish 10th despite looking/being better than we were last year.

  5. Forest apparently close to a deal for Douglas Luiz as well

Absolutely no disrespect taken! Everyone has their own opinions and lets be honest, everyone is just guessing and hoping at this point lol.

Plus, you're a Spurs fan, you SHOULD be putting us lower ha.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

    Top 4:
    Liverpool
    City
    Arsenal
    Chelsea

Depends a lot on the Isak situ. If Liverpool sign Isak, they're going to be miles clear. Even without him, I reckon they're still in pole position. I think City, Arsenal and Chelsea will all knock points out of each other, which will help Liverpool.

    Other European Spots:
    Villa
    United
    Brighton

Suspect Newcastle and Spurs won't be able to handle the new CL format and still stay in the running in what I expect will be an incredibly tight middle pack. Might sneak a spot based on cascaded cup positions. If either get dumped out in the league phase, I expect they'll pick it up later in the season and overhaul Brighton.

I have to believe Sunderland will survive, because they seem to have come up and strengthened as much as you could reasonably expect. If they can't stay up, then the gap between Championship and Premier League might be too great.

Other notable comments are that I think Brentford will be dreadful this year (too much change at once), Everton will have a nice quiet season and finish 12th, whilst everyone simply forgets that West Ham exist (except West Ham fans, who will be furious).

These four did amazing work in the transfer window and will all be in an entirely different league than whoever comes 5th. And honestly I think United did pretty great, too, if they can get it to gel they may surprise some people.

£35m for Omari, £10m for Broadhurst. We better be buying some good players with that.

Doak to Bournemouth. He'll be hoping his career doesn't end up like Jordan Ibe's lol

Yeah, this is my thinking too. Neither team has the squad for CL & PL runs. I can see them both still being fairly comfortable in European places but I think someone like Brighton might be able to cause a surprise.

Yeah, United could be quite fun. I'm not sure about their defensive midfield and wingbacks though. Not sure a single player in those positions is good enough.

  22. ———— Solanke ————
    Savinho* — Eze* — Kudus
    —— Palhinha - Sarr ——
    Udogie - VDV - Romero - Porro
    GK: Vicario

*both deals seem to be very close and I’m confident they happen

    ———— Richy ————
    Tel/Odobert - Bergvall — Johnson/Odobert
    —— Benny - Gray ——
    Davies/Spence - ?? - Danso - Spence
    GK: Kinsky

Injuries: Maddison, Kulusevski, Dragusin (Maddison the only one missing for entire season)

Assuming those two deals above happen + Kulu and Dragusin returning at some point this fall/winter, I think we actually have pretty good depth to manage all the competitions. We still have a lot of younger players but the transfer window has helped combat that issue. We’ve added Palhinha, Kudus, Eze*, Savinho* and all have PL experience which I think will make their transitions into the squad much easier than a typical transfer.

The biggest upgrade this year might end up being the manager though. Frank showing the willingness and ability to adapt to the opponent each week is such a change from Ange haha. I fully expect our defensive work to look much better. Romero and VDV with Palhinha in front of them will be formidable.

It’s expected that we also add another defender. I’ve been thinking it’d be someone for the left side, but Spence might actually be better on that side. So maybe we add another right footed player. No clue who we’re targeting there. But after the Eze and Savinho deals, it’s really the only weakness right now.

I know I’m biased, but the team above looks pretty dang good on paper. And I think we’ll get better and better as the year goes on and all the new faces settle in. Not saying we’re a top 4 team but I do think we have the team to be better than the others chasing 5th place.

  23. And I do really like United’s expected starting XI. Not sure about their depth. But that may not be too much of an issue without a European comp. So I think both Spurs and United get back on track this year.

Going to watch Leverkusen in the Pokal as a warm-up for tonight.

Seeing ten Hag get knocked out would be golden.

Don't know if Lewis is ever more than a squad guy at Man City, but seems like a mistake to sell when the team already has basically nothing at RB.

Their formation could look more like 3 CB's though when Ait-Nouri starts at LB with Stones/Akanji/Khusanov on the right side.
