  1. I think I got it mixed up with the club-trained rules UEFA has. I didn’t realize they were so different.

It’s 3 full seasons, or 36 months before 21. There’s no lower limit on age.

the real confusing one is apparently Amad is homegrown, despite only being at United for 2 and a half seasons before 21. 30 months rather than 36.

  3. In that case, it actually just doesn’t make sense that Chelsea didn’t register him as HG haha

He spent time with Crystal Palace academy before Tottenham.

Now would be a really good time for United to pull of a “how they hell did the make this happen?” sort of deal for Isak

  5. This isn’t me being a hater, but it’s absurd to me that Arsenal have had such a good window, yet may not have gained any ground on Liverpool. And, in my opinion, have been passed by City (Rodri return + Jan window + this window).

The amount of money being spent doesn’t seem very sustainable. But we’ve said this before and the spending just keeps going up and up. And I haven’t even mentioned Chelsea, who are bound to eventually be insanely good with how they spend.

The fact with Chelsea is they tend to buy potential and potential by nature doesn't always translate. Hence the scattergun approach, I guess.

I know Reece James gave the cliche captain talk about them being title challengers next season, but from what I've seen, it would take a lot more than being carried by Palmer for anything noteworthy to happen.

  7. If they sell Isak for significantly more than Sesko would cost them, why is it a difficulty deal financially?

Arteta is a mad lad signing another CB before the inevitable Gyökeres announcement. Just can't help himself.

The problem is that it apparently won’t be significantly less lol. They wanted 100m for him before which is mad money.

That said, recent Leipzig quotes have made me think they scared off Bayern & Arsenal earlier on with their demands and are worried about it. So maybe he’ll be cheaper now.

If Liverpool don’t get Isak, I think we have a really exciting three-way title fight this year, albeit with Liverpool as favourites.

If they do, I think they have to be strong, strong favourites to win absolutely everything.

  12. Yeah, I saw this morning the price has dropped by a fair amount. 60-70m + add-ons apparently.

Really thought we were safe with Liverpool picking up Wirtz. This is a troubling day.

From memory, Sesko’s attitude and wage demands also really put us off. I saw earlier that Newcastle’s highest earner is Guimaraes at 150k. Have to imagine Sesko is asking for more than that, too.

Would be cool though. I’d like to see him in the PL.

Any club regularly playing in 3-4 competitions and with international duty players has to have a full 22 at this point. Can’t skate by on 16 actual options anymore. I think we’ll see a few summers like this where the biggest teams load up. What Liverpool, City, and Arsenal have done is honestly incredibly smart and impressive. Atleti, Barca, and Madrid are doing really well with it, too. Bayern and the Italian giants seem to be struggling a bit, but they won’t for long.

  16. Spurs are 2-3 signings away from having two full lineups I’d be comfortable starting in any combination. It just isn’t as ready-now as the top 3 teams. But I do like majority of the business we’ve done recently. A lot of talented younger players. Just have to hope a good chunk turn into hits.

Yeah, feels like in the PL we’re seeing the top four of Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal, and Chelsea pull away substantially this summer. I imagine it’s even more pronounced in other leagues where the other teams don’t have the PL TV money?

Everyone has had such a strong window that United bringing in two of the best attacking talents in the league still leaves them well on the outside looking in.

It's a shame Villa sold Duran, because then I think they'd come out on top of this potential Watkins/Garnacho swap.

They made out like bandits with that, him going to Turkey after 6 months. Tbh I just don’t rate Duran that highly. Good off the bench and a good ball striker but there’s so little to his all round game.

Do you not feel he would have improved with consistent starts? He was only 20 at the time, to be fair. I guess I'm just not the sort of guy who will write off that age when they've not really had a fair go.

Whilst on the subject, he scored a brace on his Fener debut today. The big test will be Feyenoord in the CL, obviously.

Whoa, hey it’s not like Brighton to give up on a young striker too soon and watch them go for big money (remembers Gyokeres) oh wait

Watkins for Garnacho would be a dream swap. Obviously Garnacho could flourish elsewhere but he’s an incredibly toxic player with an undeserved massive ego and I have serious doubts about his ceiling and his ability to reach his full potential given the really low standard of performances he’s churned out the last two full seasons. Shocking technique and decision making 99% of the time and it’s only gotten worse since his breakout.

Watkins is an established high quality number 9 in his prime years and United need a guy who can give you solid output and consistent high level performances, at a time where United have never been more desperate for that.
