    Okay, 2-1 at least

  2. United crying broke and then spending big is so irritating when looking at what Spurs have done. They won’t get Baleba but they clearly plan on spending for another CM. Window isn’t over so still time for us to make moves to keep up with the others, but hard to have faith that anything major will happen.

Villarreal lost key players, too. Baena in particular.

The fact your goal was from a set piece is classic. Just need Saka to cut in from the right now.

Baleba will be the first purely fan willed and manifested transfer to ever happen, historical things going down.

Tbf we’re missing Gabriel, Timber, and Calafiori at the back, plus Havertz seems to be injured. And both Rice and Ødegaard are on the bench. So it’s very far from a full strength side for us.

We are definitely struggling to get Gyokeres into the game more. We are still playing like Kai is up top and I guess it takes some time to adjust. A bit like when Haaland joined city and they took a while to stop playing like they had no real striker.

Supposedly the rapist is off to Al Nassr to join the other rapist. We have a 50% sell on clause.

Yeah it was this given as the reason a couple of years ago when it first started for us. I think we lost the friendly but won the shootout and tweeted that we won the match :crylaugh:

In fairness, I don’t think you’ll need any to win the league again lol. That said, not sure you’ll repeat last years heroics in Europe without a few signings.

As an outsider, I’m looking forward to seeing if Hearts can become competitive in the next few years with the investment they’re getting. Would be nice to have someone else up there with the Old Firm clubs, and it would be good for the league surely.

I know why you say it but honestly we do. We've lost 33 goals and 19 assists combined from Kyogo (left in January) and Kuhn (left this summer) alone. Jota contributed 5 goals and 2 assists and is out until at least next January. Maeda had a freak good season (33 goals all comps) which he's unlikely to repeat (also moved to striker mid season when we didnt sign a Kyogo replacement in January) and the support is divided on Idah (20 goals all comps) to the point where if we could get our money back on him that we would be happy to do so. I am definitely in that camp.

We're in a situation just now where we are nervous about even making the league phase of the Champions League which is ridiculous. Its just unfathomable that we have sold our best RW (Kuhn) and we actually have had zero rumours to any RW player. We keep getting linked with LW which would suggest Maeda going back in to the middle but we don't actually sign anyone and even then its all players that you aren't sure if they'd improve the starting XI.

We are in a strange position that our majority shareholder seems to have a stronghold over decision making at the club. He is not our owner and doesn't have the majority of shares but wields some unbelievable power. This summer has had rumours swirling of he wont approve players over £3m, he doesn't like players with tattoos. We are on the whim of a billionaire who doesn't put a penny of his own money in to run us. We had £65m in the bank on our last interim accounts, we have spent £3m? We have received £25m in transfer fees. Add in the manager is in his last year, is holding off on renewing and vocally started taking aim at the Board... it's stirring up to be a bad season if we can't get the transfer window right. We have 2 weeks before our qualifier and we might be going to Kazakhstan for that.

    Rant over...

The league in general is interesting. Hibs ran Midtylland close in their Europa qualifier and it would be good if Aberdeen could get in to the Europa league. Hibs have spent £1.5m on a striker as well which is the first time over £1m has been sent outwith Celtic and Rangers for like 30 years I think. The Hearts investment is a weird one, Bloom seems misguided to think that he can replicate what he done with USG (Belgium) in Scotland with Hearts. It's just amusing that they're really big on advanced analytics but still couldn't find better managers than Neil Critchley and now Derek McInnes. We'll see how that one plays out but it could take a while. Russell Martin dropped points in his opening league game for Rangers and seems to have laid a marker down to the squad after that. Its clear that they've improved out wide but their squad is still short and they are a money pit. I think the top half of the league will get stronger and there will be a clear divide but it depends on getting in to Europe (especially for Aberdeen, Hibs, and Dundee Utd - who are very unlikely to) to see if they can cope with the demands.

As far as I know Blooms involvement with Hearts is just the 10 mil he invested + access to their analytics (or a version of that) while bloom won’t have any influence over the building of the club. I could be remembering those details wrong though

That £10m got him a 29% stake in Hearts with no voting rights but the ability to nominate a board member. He definitely will have some influence but they'll need to keep their distance incase of multi club ownership rules with him and their ambitions to get into Europe.
