Bournemouth defence looks an absolute mess today. Their left back just casually 5 yards behind everyone else to play Haaland onside for the second.

Yeah, very similar. Crazy high line, which is suicide against Haaland.

Rashford is so baffling. Scores a worldie but also misses at least four easy cut backs for tap ins while trying to go for goal instead. When he went to shoot the fifth time and it was a goal I was legit shocked.

Tuchel has an opportunity to go into my good books by calling up Welbeck. If he calls up Watkins, who is stinking the place out at Villa, then he's a wanker.

Why not both? Watkins has been good for England, and three strikers seems a reasonable amount.

Eh, that's true, even if the most recent example was a friendly v Wales just before they had a competitive game a few days later.

I'm a firm believer that the forwards in particular should be in form, which Welbeck certainly is. Watkins kinda takes up a spot when there's Bowen - who carried West Ham today - can cover. I'd even say Rashford has shown more.

I know it's a first world problem, though, considering Kane will take most minutes at CF.

One Knox is playing their first home playoff game right now. Just went up 2-0. I skipped out on going because of weather/errands and chores I had to get done, but I’ve had it on tv while doing things. It’s awesome to see they sold 6,000 tickets in a week for the quarterfinals.

Definitely won’t be missing the semifinals if this result holds. Our biggest rival, and #2 seed, got upset last night as well.

This is your life, are you who you want to be?

Entertaining finish! Though the crowd looks a little sparse with the weather..?

    I was definitely nervous!

The way the camera shows is directly over 80% of the seating (baseball stadium) and I suspect everyone was standing under the covered food concourses. Really great views.

This is from earlier this summer but it’s the best I’ve got in my phone to kinda show the covered stuff behind the stands. They’ve got standing room bar tops back there. I stood there for an entire baseball game earlier this summer, too. Lovely time.

I would gladly start a fundraiser to get me one of those lofts they’re building behind first base you can see. Grilling on the patio watching games all the time would be awesome.

Is patio used in the US as a synonym for balcony?

Sometimes, I guess? Balcony is more correct for an upper level apartment like those. Patio/Porch/Deck/Balcony are all very similar yet also different things connected to housing, now that I think about it.

Interesting. When I hear patio, I always think of a kind of inner yard / atrium.

Yeah, patio over here is an outside area in a garden (yard).

    Porch is front of house.
    Patio is back of house.
    Deck is back of house.
    Balcony can be either.

I’m unreasonably firm on all of those.

As an American, I’ve also used patio when referencing my apartment balcony. I’ve had friends over who have referred to it in the same way. Definitely incorrect but I think I’ve been using patio as a catch all for anything that is just an outside extension of the home.

but what about the back porch? I’ve visited plenty of those lol

    Porch - unenclosed
    Patio - screened in

In thinking more on this, this is definitely something I’ve unknowingly thought.

There is a front porch and back porch, but not a front deck and a back deck, just back. Porches can wraparound, but patios can’t.

Another example of how English just pillages every language it comes in contact with with no rhyme or reason. I’m sure they all probably come from castles and manor houses.

I mostly think of atriums as enclosed places with glasses roofs, and mostly hotel or museum lobbies, haha.
