Fans have already raised half a million to keep them going, too. Proper support.

And they may soon have new owners. Hopefully they choose owners who will be a safe, reliable pair of hands.

Really gone under the radar how much of a shit show Juventus have become in recent years.

  3. Did they face punishments or restrictions after all those charges year or two ago?

Ngl, for the first time in my life, I feel invested in Scottish football.

Nothing against Celtic but I’d love Hearts to do it.

  7. I think I’m finally happy with my fantasy squad again. Found a way to fit Haaland without sacrificing the rest of my team. Time to make a charge up the table.

i tore a hole in the fabric of time Moderator

I didn’t watch the game because I was traveling, but the pure irony of “threw a hissy fit so large it affected his level of play for over a year” Vini Jr saying that Pedri “cries too much” is really beautiful to circle back on.

Betis v Atleti should be a belter tonight. Near-on identical records, 4th place up for grabs.

Holy shit. The statement is a lot...

"Regrettably, his words and actions since then have been divisive, misleading, and self-serving. They have contributed to a toxic atmosphere around the club and fuelled hostility towards members of the executive team and the Board. Some of the abuse directed at them, and at their families, has been entirely unwarranted and unacceptable.

Every member of the Board and executive team is deeply passionate about Celtic and acts at all times with professionalism, integrity, and a shared desire for success. What has failed recently was not due to our structure or model, but to one individual’s desire for self-preservation at the expense of others."

Just as context for everyone, this is Demot Desmond - Celtic's majority shareholder with 34% so not owner but is a Non-Executive Director on the Board - who is character assassinating our out-going manager who made the decision to resign on our official club channels. He has a cheek to call anyone self-serving but again, our Chief Executive continues to play silent. Can't believe he's decided this is all Brendan Rodgers fault, good laugh.

Also, regardless of if any of it is true, I really don't think a club should be putting out statements that have the same vibe as the public facebook post from someone’s toxic ex.

Yeah, I suspected that might be the case. Easy to blame everything on the guy you just fired, I guess.

Really interesting article, but can you elaborate on that quote (regarding the voting system):

i love that Desmond is pinning the purchases of players like Inamura and Yamada on Rodgers as if he has a deep knowledge of the J League and it's not just Celtic desperately trying to re-do the success of Maeda, Hatate, and Kyogo without Ange's contacts

Basically, I believe the bottom club in the fourth tier had to reapply for professional status and to stay in the EFL. The top club in the fifth tier could apply to take their place. There was no set relegation or promotion between those two leagues until I think the late 80’s.

In reality, it just meant that very rarely did clubs actually get promoted into the fourth division, as clubs saw it in their favour to mostly vote for them to stay up.

Kettering were one of the clubs turned down several times, and then eventually fell into the 6th and now 7th tiers in the 2010’s because of financial mismanagement and an ill-fated move into a bigger stadium vacated by Rushden & Diamonds when they went under, which left the club financially crippled.

I feel sorry for Celtic fans getting Shaun Maloney. It's no secret I take in a few Wigan games per season, and yeah, he was found out in League 1...
