That is one of the weakest handball calls that just happened in El Classico. It's a ricochet ball that just happens to contact the arm of the defender sliding.

Though I guess it being saved is the football gods saying yeah that shit was weak.

  2. Strange start to the game. I guess Kudus is in the middle today?

  3. Ange being against practicing set pieces while the league is trending toward them being more important was hilarious. Glad Frank has improved us there.

    BIG JAKE!

    EDIT: VAR'd

  5. He wouldn’t have stopped it but that is very clearly impeding the keeper

  6. Actually, I actually think he may have gotten it if he wasn’t impeded

Saw a post on reddit talking about how teams in the PL don’t even bother trying to play us openly anymore. Even Pep’s City parked the bus.

Today, Palace set up with Mateta in front of our midfield. Two banks of five. Which is their right, of course, but explains why lots of our PL matches are dull compared to those in Europe, even against better teams.

Thankfully, when that happens, we have a weapon in our set pieces.

Played Munoz against my own team in FPL so he'd "teach me a lessson". He scored. We then won 2-1.

Played Van de Ven this week. He's scored. Rinse, repeat?

It's my birthday tomorrow so I really don't want it ruined haha.

    Impeding the goalkeeper.

Yeah, I agree. I don’t wanna see goals disallowed for that.

I’m not convinced Spurs under Frank are actually good, but they’re somehow in third.

  17. Sandwich in between Bournemouth and Sunderland lol what a strange season so far

  18. Based on how Frank has been talking, I think we’re playing boring on purpose. I hate it. But it’s somewhat working for now. Would like to see us pushing it more and being a little more front-footed. This style of play will not cut it much longer.

    Just seen a mad stat.

Arsenal have played 13 games in all competitions, and have 10 clean sheets.

    Absolutely crazy.

  21. Arsenal defense is obviously good. But the first post helps explain the second somewhat right?

  22. It kinda seems like bizarre tactics to go against Arsenal and let them have possession, put pressure on you, and increase likelihood of committing fouls to give up free kicks or to concede corners…while playing a team that has proven to be very good at set pieces.

Is it really the lesser of two evils?

Honestly, the best team against us this season has been United. We lost to Liverpool but I felt like that was unlucky.

United took the game to us and it caught us by surprise, I think. Palace were good today but that was more about being organised and tough to break down.

Lost among the noise, perhaps, but I just saw that Sheffield Wednesday sold out Hillsborough this weekend, the first game back since going into administration.

That's fantastic considering relegation is a cert now.
