Always found Nuno to be quite arrogant personality wise, so seeing him relegated wouldn't make me lose any sleep. Obviously there's the Moyes thing RE: West Ham fans.

Having put about 11 and a half hours in now, I think I have "gotten used to it", but unfortunately it's so wank that I'm pretty much not doing anything except Inbox page -> First Team page -> Tactics page -> Continue. I don't wanna be too harsh or too negative because I appreciate they mostly had to start from 0 like 8 months ago or whatever, but there are so many baffling design decisions in this game, it feels like it was designed by people who have never played an FM game.

Why can't I compare my staff? Why can't I compare two players who aren't at my club, why does one of them need to be mine? Why isn't my training screen sorted by position, why is my 3rd Goalkeeper halfway down the list among a couple of midfielders and a centre back? Why does Continue progress the date instead of going to the next unreal email? Why can't I hover over a value on a negotiation screen and increase or decrease by scrolling with my mouse wheel????

Some of these might be bugs (the training screen thing probably is?), but it's hard to tell what is and isn't a bug because some of the things I would otherwise assume are bugs are explicitly stated to be design choices (such as the Continue).

I think the new match engine/graphics engine/tactics system is good enough that I will probably keep playing and hope that they just fix it over the course of the year, but I'm not particularly hopeful, and I will probably continue completely ignoring things like my staff because it's such a hassle (as someone who used to spend the first hour of a save trying to sort staff out) compared to how it used to be.

EDIT: I think the worst thing is that one of the bugs that is going to most negatively affect my future saves are the Korean (maybe all of East Asia outside of Japan, since it seems to affect Chinese/Hong Kong newgens too) women's newgen surnames are nearly nonsense ("Warng"? "Wwu"?), but because there are so many other much bigger much more urgent issues, I can imagine this being missed completely and then I'm just sat here with half a continent of nonsense newgens completely ruining my immersion. It's gonna be FM23's Spanish "Ivan" all over again, but at least Ivan is a reasonable name for the region!

 

Damn. That sounds like a mess. Hopefully they bring out an editor for it, then you can at least fix the names!

I guess I’ll do my planned save on FM 24 for now. Doing a partial journeyman save, but I can only take jobs at unusual clubs. Starting at FC Metta in Latvia, who are a university club - so all my players will be under 23 and when they reach 23 they must be released at the end of the season for free.

If anyone knows of other weird clubs around the world, let me know!

 

I'm sure you must have 5 HG players in your XI in the Finnish league, if that's of interest? Very, very hard challenge if you pick someone outside of HJK.
