Hope it works out for him! Championship and his brittle shoulder might not be the best combo but he'll definitely score as long as Birmingham can service him. I think it proves we were right to let him go in January, just a shambles that we haven't replaced him properly and don't look likely to do so.

 

I've actually seen talk of Calvert-Lewin to Celtic? When fit, his hold up play is second to none. He could fit for Celtic's midfield runners like Maeda. Unfortunately, his own finishing would frustrate the life out of you haha.

 

Our wage structure means we definitely will not sign him. He's the type of striker that I would like us to sign though, I did see these links ages ago but all of the links to the Premier League out of contracts never amount to anything. We were heavily linked with Josh Brownhill too.

I think Maeda is going to be our starting striker now because we've been linked with about 40 left wingers which is where he'd abdicate to go central but we're also selling Kuhn to Como so we need about 4 wingers if we're not upgrading in the middle. It's been a frustrating start to the window as always for us haha.

Also wtf happened with Kenny Tete?! I was sure Romano gave it the 'here we go' treatment only for him to sign a new contract. Would've been a cracking signing because the big Irish guy isn't a RB and Nathan Patterson is rubbish.

We offered him a deal, but Fulham offered him 3 years. The general feeling is Tete's agent has used us via Romano to spook Fulham into a better offer than they were previously offering. It's unfortunate, but we've missed out on much better players over the years.

JOB can certainly do a "job" at RB, like he proved last season, but yeah we're crying out for a more "natural" fit. There was talk of Wesley from Flamengo, but apparently our "sister" club Roma are signing him instead. This currently has a fair few of our fans up-in-arms at the moment. You know, all the conjecture that the Friedkin's favour them over us. Patterson certainly isn't the desired standard like you've said, but we'll struggle to shift him. Not even Rangers wanted him back, they signed Max Aarons instead. Can we send him to Elgin?

The unspoken story for us and why it's essential we finally replace Coleman is to ensure Michael Keane gets as little game time as possible. If we sign a RB, he'll be firmly behind Branthwaite, Tarkowski and JOB in that order. Moreover, the hope is JOB phases out Tarks this season.

Elsewhere, we desperately need a RW to ensure we never endure Jack Harrison again. McAtee is the dream. We need a DM/CM to cover Gana when he goes to AFCON - the Ndidi links are likely bullshit as he'll be going AFCON himself. Morten Frendrup from Genoa or Richard Rios from Palmeiras are the favourites as I type this.

Thankfully, it looks like we've got a CF in Barry from Villarreal. Alcaraz has filled the Doucoure void, too. So there is a degree of progress at the club after some very bleak years previous.

He’s the one thing that could save what has been a wreck of a transfer summer so far. We’ve been rejected or unsuccessful with so many wing targets. For Rodrygo to all of a sudden become available and then sign him, the best of the bunch that’s been considered, would be a coup.
