A completely new right-had side? Exciting. We've not been good there since Martinez was coach.

Just realised this probably means the Grealish rumours are unfounded. Thankfully.

Hadn't seen the rumours, but that could have been interesting. Still believe he's a good player and might thrive again having a bit more freedom for Everton. Feels like Moyes would like him.

  7. Need Grealish to come to Charlotte with his guy Dean Smith

  8. Oh god. Sounds like it’s happening. This guy is usually pretty reliable if I remember correctly.

I’m fine with Ange or Frank. I’m just worried about a few players who will force their way out now.

Yeah, we've been linked. I'm firmly in the camp that it'd be a "showboat" signing that we would have made under Moshiri, though. Another Walcott, essentially. I appreciate he's talented and will likely flourish somewhere away from Pep's pragmatism, but I'd rather we signed younger players without colossal wages. Seeing the likes of Jake O'Brien flourish last season (particularly after Dyche said he wasn't ready!) means so much more than seeing more established types, if you get me? I know we need a level of experience in the team, but I don't feel Grealish is the guy.

Are Boro after a DM/CM by any chance. Because if Harrison Armstrong becomes available on loan again, he's your guy. I've not been as excited about a youth prospect of ours for awhile.

Such an upgrade for Brentford. Flekken is dodgy as it comes.

He'll come in at 5.0 despite Flekken finishing the season at 4.5. Just FPL towers things.

Rumor that Kyle Walker will be headed that way since he is not staying with Milan.

Some reliable reports that we’ve agreed personal terms with both Sesko and Gyokeres and are working on both deals to ensure we definitely get one.

Fuck it, get both. Let’s score all the goals.

I truly hate the whole “footballs gone because PSG and Man City have won UCL” talk.

The current form of UCL and EPL were developed to reward clubs that were already established with tons of money to spend.

Another reason I hate seeing those articles and posts is because it’s viewed as a racial thing. If organizations were worried about billionaires buying their way to the top they could have done it numerous times before Man City and PSG were purchased by their current owners.

You support City and the trophies they’ve won in the last decade and a half, you have to be ready to face the music. City, PSG, Newcastle, Chelsea, Red Bull, fuck em. Most importantly, you can’t compare the sports washing done by nations with putrid human rights records and oil empires built off the backs of slave labor and try to make it comparable with your run of the mill billionaire ownership. Turn around to try and make it a race issue as well, fucking coward behavior. Grow up and have a word with yourself, pathetic.

not arguing it’s not bad for the game overall but isn’t this only the second time a state owned team has won ucl? It’s not like these teams have taken over and ruined the opportunities for others.

I had drafted this the other night but never hit send. Since it’s come back up again…

It hasn’t exactly brought these competitions to an untenable standpoint, but we can’t go on pretending it isn’t an insult to the integrity of the game. World Cup 2022, World Cup 2034, the acceptance of the Saudi league as a whole and the money they’re spending. Not asking anyone to give up support for a club they’ve got an emotional attachment to, just asking that we don’t bury our heads in the sand and refuse to engage with the uncomfortable aspects.

There are definitely uncomfortable aspects, I guess I just never believed in the purity of any sports league. I guess that’s part of being an American - our leagues never deserved that level of respect.
