We were in for him two years ago but he didn’t want to leave home. Then last summer he rejected Liverpool for the same reasons.

I don’t think it was due to either team choosing to “wait” but he just wasn’t ready, I guess.

I forgot about him not wanting to leave. Cheers for the context.

In fairness to him, if I lived in San Sebastián I wouldn’t want to come to the UK either.

Osimhen appears to be taking that Saudi bag. Leaves the striker pool looking very slim, given that Arsenal, Liverpool, Juventus, Chelsea, and Man United are all in the market for one, plus teams like Everton, West Ham, etc.

Time for everyone to come calling for Joao Pedro then. We’ll take a nice $60 mil for him.

I wonder why strikers are more keen than most to take the Saudi bag.

Most desirable position therefore most likely to demand the offers? It's kinda like the QB and WR positions in NFL.

What top strikers are even available for those clubs now?

Sesko, Gyokeres, Ekiteke? If you look at someone the level below there’s Vlahovic, maybe Delap?

Should be 2-0 Betis. My god.

This game is night and day compared to last week’s final lol

Hopefully Alex Crook is still a billy bullshitter and Delap isn't going to Chelsea with their history of ruining CFs. From Shevchenko to Kezman to Torres et al.

Sancho doing well and Chelsea winning. A horrible day for the good guys.

No excuse not to pay up now though!

Of the last 20 European finals where a La Liga team faced a non-La Liga team, Betis today was the first loser since 2002.

A fun little read on the 92 British football league team stadiums ranked with a really surprising #1. (Original article was behind a paywall).

This is seriously our deal of the summer. Love the guy.

Just hoping we've got a constituency plan in place for when his legs finally go.

  17. Like I’ve said before, he seems like a good player. But I don’t know if he’s a real upgrade. Would like for us to bring in a CM that is a clear upgrade and starter for us.

Lines up with rumors today of Osimhen for 30m plus Hojlund. Not that I exactly believe that specific rumor, but United have a fully mapped out window with contingency plans so I imagine they’ll immediately be on to the next one.

I really like that this wasn’t just the usual random assortment, followed by Anfield, Emirates, Spurs.

I really like Carrow Road, Craven Cottage, and St Andrews as a stadium. Makes me lowkey root for Norwich, Fulham & Birmingham City.

Any stadium actually in the city like Goodison, Emirates, or St James is an instant winner too.

In fairness, Delap would have been stupid to take any other offer. The likes of Evan Ferguson show what can happen to a 'next big thing' type young player. Few injuries, drop of form, and Delap could be looking at being back in the Championship in a couple of years. Least with Chelsea he'll get the 10 year contract to protect him for most of his career.

This will be a major factor. Also, I found out shortly after my post last night that Maresca coached him in the City dev squad.

we make jokes about Chelsea’s insane squad and being a graveyard for young players but if i’m Delap i’m for sure backing myself to supplant Jackson

Gasperini to Roma. That's Atalanta finished, then. Roma will be well worth watching next season, too.

Shit. Delap at CHE next season means they could be a real force.
