I was trying to describe myself to someone

Tbh, I had it in the back of my mind that Bournemouth's transfers under him weren't always the best...

I'm hoping it's idle chatter. It makes no sense for the club and the model they're after to have him wasting his efforts being in charge of transfers. I can't think of any currently successful club who isn't doing the head coach and DoF type model.

  2. Always a great idea to drag things out. The Levy way.

I think the plan is probably to wait and let the excitement over EL fizzle out and then sack him. But it’s a terrible idea. The squad wants him to stay. The fans want him to stay. Sacking him now will just ruin any momentum or good vibes created last week.

Take sane, give us back Tel.

    I am a huge Teliever

  8. Sane still good?

Erratic but electric. Some say this was one of his most consistent seasons in a while, I think I’m just too tainted from the past few years to look at him objectively at this point.

I just want a clean break from an entire segment of players that defined these past few seasons - sane, coman, gnabry, goretzka - and a few of the signings that have been made that never panned out and always felt like wishful thinking from the jump like palhinha, boey, peretz, guerreirro.

Tel, Pavlovic have shown real promise at this level, players like Paul Wanner have to feel like an afterthought the way they are farmed out for loans, and we’ve lost some legitimate talent like Chris Richards, zirkzee, and Malik Tillman just because we haven’t emphasized young talent making the transition to the first team.

To know that some of these guys are losing out on opportunities because of the “productive” but ultimately dead weight listed in the paragraph above is frustrating.

    Aren’t Sane’s wages absolutely enormous?

  11. I think we’re definitely keeping Tel but it’d be kinda funny if we kept him and then brought in Sane to block his minutes.

  12. Yeah, that’s the issue I see. I mean, he’s out of contract so it’ll be a different number but I’m assuming he’ll still be asking for more than Levy will pay up.

Not anymore! They are whatever the highest bidder offers. Right now, Bayern has offered 10m guaranteed with potential escalators up to 15. Previously, he had been on about 20m. He had even agreed verbally to that amount with Bayern before switching agents to Zahavi. Now, he’s asking for more and Bayern haven’t budged.

All of this to say that the insane wages look like a thing of the past.

It's quite a feeling when you see rival teams being linked to "household" names e.g. Sane and then you see your team linked to Harrison Burrows from Sheffield United haha. Honestly, though, I've heard he's quite decent and Moyes has history of finding bargains in the Championship.

  16. Apparently, Arsenal and Chelsea are also planning to talk with Sane. Sounds like he basically just wants to be in London.

Would a Chelsea win give Forest Europa League, rather than Conference?

  19. I will ultimately be rooting for Betis but I would enjoy Spurs and Chelsea both winning European trophies the same year and it irritating Arsenal fans lol

  20. I’ll go ahead and get my daily Ange post out of the way…

Reporting around Spurs indicates that they’re waiting until after this week to make a decision on Ange. There are also some reports that both Levy and Paratici are very high on Simone Inzaghi - who has a CL final this weekend and has been rumored to be moving away from Inter.

Putting the pieces together…feels like they want Inzaghi as the next manager.

So Arsenal have waited 12 months to end up paying the full Real Sociedad valuation/release clause? He's also a year older to boot.
