Tight finish in FPL! Winning by 1 point!

  2. I’m sorry I annoy everyone with my Spurs talk. As I’ve said previously, none of my friends care about soccer lol they are all sports fans but if I bring up soccer it’s like talking to a doorknob. Imagine trying to explain the current Spurs season over the last few days. Impossible lol

So this is the only place I have to do it.

I get that. We have the brand new soccer stadium here in town and I can’t get anyone to go with me.

Talk about Spurs all you wish. Don’t feel you’re annoying anyone. You aren’t.

It’s been a running joke on podcasts like Football Weekly that Ange in/out has been spoken about all year relentlessly by everyone. At least now there’s the trophy element to it!

Fiorentina finish 8th in 22/23: Qualifies for the Conference League

Fiorentina finish 7th in 23/24: Qualifies for the Conference League

Fiorentina finish 6th in 24/25: Qualifies for the Conference League

    It is inevitable.

  6. And tbf, now that we won Europa it is quite easily the most interesting storyline going. It’s a very rare situation.

Very, very funny that Martinez gets sent off in his last Villa appearance, costing the club Champions League. Always been a total tosser.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Keep Ange. He literally admitted on giving up on league play.

If you could sign one player for your team, who would it be? (And why is it Gyokeres?)

  13. It probably is Gyokeres haha

But outside of him…I really want a top tier CM/DM. Frenkie de Jong’s name is always floating around in the summer. If he ever actually leaves I’d love for Spurs to make a move.

I have a feeling Pedro and Mitoma are the bigger sales that Brighton makes this year.

    please take Goretzka instead!

also, I don’t follow spurs closely although I’ve been to their stadium for an nfl game.

If they really have cycled through coaches every 18 months, at what point does levy get the boot instead of yet another coach?

I’ll be pretty crushed if Baleba is sold this summer, too, but I’m sure he will get multiple bids.

17 points behind for me. Not bad for someone who was 130 points behind at one stage. It's on next season, lads!

A striker. Dear god, someone buy a striker. Our top goalscorer in the league was Havertz. He got nine lol.

I can’t decide between Gyokeres and Sesko. I think Sesko probably suits us more, and feels like he has great potential, but Gyokeres is probably more ready to jump to our level immediately. Thank god I’m not making the call.

Is it OK to say that I can't narrow it down? Haha. I mean, it's been years since Everton have had a winger that can beat a man. Harrison is utter crap (but gone thankfully). Defensively we're in a good place, i feel. Beto has shown dramatic improvement, but a major statement signing at CF would be exciting. Delap fits the bill there. Emegha from Strasbourg possibly? Not that them being owned by Boehly would help us.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

Agreed. Very excited about Zumbamendi joining, but we've spent very little on attacking options over the last few years vs the rest of the top six, and desperately need a proper goalscoring no.9. We lost the same amount of games as Liverpool this season (with the caveat that they obviously dropped off after winning the league) and drew a hell of a lot more. We need someone to turn all those draws to wins.

ten Hag to Leverkusen. Surprised Pikachu...

  23. I don’t understand how Villa barely miss CL and now have to sell off a few key players to stay compliant but United finish 15th, have made several bad transfers, and can immediately spend 60m+ on Cunha

I was trying to describe myself to someone

I didn't see any scores until MoTD last night, so watching us shit the bed at home to Everton was fairly painful until Martinez tried his hand at hockey.

On the signings thing, important thing for Newcastle is keep all the current first 11. We're paper thin after that, unfortunately. I don't really know what our target will be next year. We can't realistically aim to win the CL or league, so are we just chasing 4th again?

I think we probably need a new keeper (Pope is a bit brittle and has a moment in him) and we need some defensive beefing up. Botman seems a little fragile, Schar is getting on and our two main full backs are young. We don't have much behind them. We only really have Isak up front of note too.

Given the grind this season was without Europe, there's no way we can finish this well again next season without some serious reinforcement.

  25. First two business decision for Spurs will be Mathys Tel and Johnny Cardoso.

All reporting indicates we’re working on a deal for Tel that would be cheaper than the original buy option. Around 40m I think? Seems like a good deal. Since playing LW he’s shown a lot more potential.

With Cardoso, we have a really weird deal in place from the Lo Celso sell. I think the buy option is around 25m or so. I like Cardoso. Seems like a solid player. But I’m not sure he’s an upgrade or what we need. But I also don’t watch a lot of Betis games. So I don’t know.
