To be clear, that was observation not complaint. Wild how it works out like that.

Not trying to jinx it for either set of fans, but man, a Tottenham Man Utd final would be a doozy with how shit their domestic campaigns have been.

 

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect us to be leaving San Mames 3-0 up.

3-1 is a little disappointing tbh but we should be able to handle the second leg with a two goal lead. You’d hope so.

 

Massive goal for Bodo. I think people underestimate how hard it is to play on a fake pitch in the arctic circle. It’s a bit like Bolivia playing at altitude in SA qualifying.

Sets the game up nicely for the second leg.

 

I was actually curious to see their home vs away form in these knockouts cause it’s such a weird situation. It’s pretty stark.

2-1 loss away to Twente, win 5-2 at home.
2-1 loss away to Olympiacos, win 3-0 at home.
3-1 loss away to Lazio, win 2-0 at home.

I still think Spurs will do it, but that’s gonna be a great game.

 

Seems like it happens every year they’re in Europe. They lose all their away games and win all their home games.

I didn’t see the Harry Maguire run that is inspiring all the memes, but they’re pretty great.

 

The second half yesterday was the disappointing part. First half we were pretty dominant. Up 2-0 and should’ve had a couple more.

Richarlison was a big reason why. He was pretty good and a lot of our attack went through him. For some reason, Ange subbed him off at half. Said it was tactical. And we instantly looked worse. Only scored because of a dumb pen that wasn’t even during a real goal scoring threat from us.

3-1 win is always nice so I can’t complain too much. But Ange continues to confuse me. Why make a halftime tactical change when you are dominating?

 

Having not watched the game, in Anges defence Richarlison's body is barely holding up as is. If he was playing as well as that, perhaps the 'tactical' reason was to protect him for future more important games (the second leg, a potential final) given the first leg was already won at that point?

 

It’s possible. But he explained it a little more in depth as an in-game tactical reason. If he wanted to manage Richy’s minutes, he could’ve just said that and everyone would know it makes sense lol

 

Yeah fair enough. I agree tbf, just know managers are funny sometimes with their language and shielding players with media quotes.

 

I think it’s also fair to say that one sub like that shouldn’t change the momentum that much when you are still such a superior side. So the players are also at fault for the little drop off in the second half.

but like I said 3-1 is still solid.

Slot said he will rotate except for those chasing records, which is obviously Salah. He’ll get 75-80 minutes per match at minimum to make stuff happen to get 30 goals, 20 assists

though it might make sense to move on from Salah since questions remain about how at it everyone else will be to put away his chances or feed him the ball, but Salah himself will play with purpose

 

Been so busy with work today that I forgot to do my team. Even worse, cause I did FH last week, I don’t even remember who I have lol.
