Not bad for $12. It doesn’t fit as oddly into the baseball stadium as I expected. Really, really nice to have this built into the city itself. The baseball team used to play like thirty minutes north of here in the middle of nowhere and the soccer team was on the college campus.

Spurs’ stadium hosted some boxing today and one of the boxers chose to walk out to North London Forever, and they lit the stadium up in red and white lol.

Fair to say Spurs fans (rightfully) aren’t happy.

Won the home opener (cup match) in penalties after conceding a 95’ equalizer.

I guess some of the ticket prices leaked out of Kansas City this week and nosebleeds will be *starting* at $323… rumor has it the final has a starting get in price of $7,000.

Tickets to the Euro 2020 group stage match between England vs. croatia at Wembley that I went to were about £125 (~$180) iirc.

So that is a big increase, but honestly less than I expected.

The final was about £700 I think so yeah that increase is fucked lol.

That would put the final on par with the Super Bowl. Which, if I had to guess, is what’s setting that benchmark.

I heard an interesting story about some American owners who purchased a PL club that I think says a lot of American sports culture re: prices.

One of the first things they did was ask why the club hadn’t put the ticket prices up to as much as they possibly could, and cancel all season tickets for next season, as if they had thought of some capitalist secret no one had ever thought of.

They were told that if they did so, the fans would probably riot and destroy the stadium. They did not raise the prices.

Just found out Kepa is 30.

I honestly thought he was still 23.

  21. Makes sense. Majority of Americans are brainwashed by uber-capitalism and just accept whatever bullshit is thrown our way with zero fight. It sucks.

  22. Do you think the club had any idea this was going to happen? Not that it’d be an excuse. If they’re hosting an event, you’d think they’d be aware of everything happening at said event. But I think it’s more likely they allowed the promotion to run everything and were hands-off. And then this happened.

Nah, they probably didn’t. I’m guessing they just don’t have a clause saying “nothing associated with Arsenal/Chelsea”, etc. But for sure someone on the event team will be getting a pretty bad email from Spurs asking how it happened. Could just be that they don’t follow football so didn’t realise.

  24. Charlotte with a bad loss last night and dropped from 1st for 4th ugggh.

We didn’t play that bad. But New England is just one of those annoying teams that sits back and blocks every attempt and then randomly squeezes out a goal to win 1-0. Super frustrating. Zaha was better but still hasn’t really hit full stride. We also had the worst ref in MLS. Any time I see his name for a match I know it’s gonna be a rough one.
