It's a TV show where average members of the public take on obstacle courses which are guarded by Gladiators - essentially muscular athletes. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a similar show Stateside.

 

Yes we get gladiators. We got them in the early 90’s.

We had American gladiators in the 1990s that I loved. It got a reboot sometime in the last like 15 years I think. I also think there was another one like it hosted by The Rock, too. There’s also a Netflix doc on the original 1990’s American gladiators and how they’d film for like 12+ hours at a time just getting destroyed physically.

 

oh wow this was a huge show when I was like 7. It still exists over there?!

 

the Netflix doc is awesome. I was a big gladiator fan as a 90’s kid so the dose of nostalgia was incredible

 

Yeah, haha. It got rebooted last year and has a prime time Saturday slot on BBC.

Also, McGinn is a dirty player, he's made 3 or 4 fouls but still hasn't been booked.

 

I loved this as a kid but the presenters of the reboot do my head in. That said, if I’m in on a Saturday, I’ll watch it for Sabre alone.

Also a good chance to laugh at people much more physically fit than I’ll ever be.

 

Fulham and Forest are quite fun teams to watch this season
