What a game. Would have been even better if it was actually at the San Siri as opposed to Riyadh.

Oh cool Brighton is down to 2 healthy cb’s too. One of them came back over the weekend after 13 games missed due to injury. Our captain down with a second calf injury.

  9. The deal we have for Cardoso is odd. I think we have rights to him for 30m-ish if we want him. If another club buys him, we would receive a percentage of the sale…I think?

Sounds like one we wanted to wait until Sunmer to decide on but may be forced to act now. Makes things tricky. He’s a good player but it’s the one position we’re a little crowded in.

  10. No one watching today?

    I am unfortunately :sly:

  12. I just tuned in. They did away with away goals mattering more right?

I thought Newcastle played that to perfection. They took their chances and closed the game down so impressively. I thought Tonali was immense.

I don't really know what to say about Arsenal. We've looked hungover in most games recently, and Havertz is clearly half fit so we have no real outlet for goals. It's not a great excuse because so many teams are depleted, but we look desperate for more options, and it's making less and less sense why we signed Sterling on loan if we're just going to shove literally anyone else out wide instead of give him opportunities (although I do appreciate he is also half-fit). I keep on moaning about it, but it's just not been fun to watch us recently, and I think the team are losing a lot of good will with the fans, especially if more poor results follow. I know we're spoit lol.

Yeah I believe so, so there is a chance, but St James', and even Anfield (in your case) are such tough places to go, you really have to take your chances at home.

That xg stat makes me feel sick (3.09 vs 1.22) lol

Yeah I was watching while doing something else.

We look knackered and half fit. Odegaard and Partey were particularly bad today. Just let players run off them for the goals.

We created chances but didn’t finish them. Tie is basically over at 2-0 anyway, because we just don’t score goals. We need a striker and a creative player badly but it doesn’t seem like we’re going to sign anyone so I’m worried about the season.

But most of all, we’re just boring to watch and I’m fed up with it. Why did we only try doing anything at 2-0 down?

I thought Arsenal made that really uncomfortable to watch from our perspective. It was one of those counter attacking games where it didn't really feel like we had it all that under control. First half could have gone either way. I thought we looked a bit squishy through the middle without Bruno.

The massive advantage we now have (aside of the 2 goals and the second leg at home) is that Arsenal have way worse and more fixtures than us. As long as we can rotate and keep everyone fit, we have such a good chance to get to the final again.

Now if Spurs could just make it interesting...

Rice particularly pissed me off after going 2-0 down. Most energetic I think we've seen him all season?

Arteta blaming the ball used in the cup for them not scoring last night is not something I expected to wake up to.

In fairness, he didn’t really blame it at all.

They asked him about it and he said something like “yeah, it’s not great and it flies which made finishing difficult but you have to be able to adapt to that and it’s no excuse.”

Of course, the British media turn that into something else to stoke up the usual brigade.

I thought his post-match comments were really obviously begging for a striker.

Gotta say, less than ideal to have both your strikers out for the season...

I don't think they trust Jebbison yet, either. They'll likely dip into the market imo, unless they decide to play Semenyo through the middle?

Chance you could offload DCL on them maybe?
