  1. I mean we’re missing a few guys that’d help on the corners

Damn that sucks for Reiss. He was playing so well.

  3. Ref letting a lot of physical play go on. Which is fine for now. But not gonna be fun when he inevitably starts picking random fouls to call.

  4. Also, we’ve lost some mojo. Outside of the City game it’s been so bland recently. Just not creating enough chances. We really need a more dynamic wing player.

Fulham scoring from a corner? They really are Arsenal-lite.

Damn got spoiled on the Brighton result but looks like Bart had a dodgy game in goal so happy I didn’t have to witness that.

Joao Pedro with another assist. He’s so good. I hope we can keep him if we get into Europe next year.

    at least he’s tall!

  11. I said before, I don’t think we should see how the club is investing in mostly young players and then expect immediate results. An injury spell creates a pretty thin squad which doesn’t help. But one win in six matches is hard to defend. They should be better than this.

Brighton, with 19 injuries and an average age a year younger than tottenhams lineup today are doing it ;-)

    just extremely damning results.

The club makes no sense. They’re clearly content just raking in a profit and only spending on younger players. But yet they want a seat at the table of the top clubs without actually putting in the effort. I don’t know. It’s exhausting rooting for this club.

Kulusevski has put the entire club on his back this season, and without him it would be even worse.

they spent all their money on young players who clearly aren’t ready to play. We have zero depth. We have one actual striker who performs, and one who is always injured. Son has looked like a shell of himself, and his back option is… Timo Werner. We have no backup options at RWB. Just awful depth.

  16. Yeah. It’s terrible squad construction. I like the youth they’ve invested in. But the lack of investment for now is noticeable. And even so, they underperform. I feel bad for Ange. And for whoever comes after him.

  17. I hope we stick by Ange though. Those results are awful. But I don’t blame him. Too many games his working with a makeshift back line like today.

With all due respect to the Spurs guys in here I think there may be too much of a hyper fixation going on regarding every game and expecting more than what’s to be expected at the moment. It’s not a top four squad and you’re only a year and a half into the Ange era.

When you look at the top four, there are three teams who spent five of more years building projects where the manager and team of directors and executives share the same long term collective vision. The outlier is a Chelsea team have bought forty players and spent two billion dollars in the last couple of years, they seem to have struck gold with a manager who had all the talent in the world at his disposal. Still a tough job to come in and put his foot down by saying this is my squad of 25 or so guys and the rest don’t exist to me, but he had a bevy of quality to work with in a way that the likes of Amorim and Ange do not at the moment.

Ange is as good as a manager you could hope for at the moment, and the current quality of the squad is not high enough to cut and run yet again to try and find short term gain because there’s none to be found.

Spurs are just in a sort of non relevant transitional period where it’s going take another handful of windows to bring in the right young talent, move on from the guys who aren’t cutting it, while allowing time for the young talent there to continue to develop.

Fans of top teams with expectations of challenging get restless and antsy when their teams aren’t playing games that have major stakes to them all the time, but it’s hard to be too critical of what’s going on when the squad is unbalanced and not in prime operating condition.

I say all this because of the similarities to where United is at with their project. It sucked to watch an Arsenal v United game where the main focus was on “what are signs of improvement that bode well for the future and what are things that need to be focused and improved on moving forward” instead of watching it as a top of the table clash between two titans like it should be but that’s just not where things are at.

I agree with all of that. 100%. I’m more just speaking on the fear of the club giving up on Ange despite everything you just said. If the fan base isn’t patient it can start to get toxic and it just spirals from there.

Yeah I’m not giving up on Ange. And in fairness, that rebuild/transition is much easier to swallow when it comes from a period of success/winning. Our wins have been top 4. That’s it. Which is why it’s so frustrating to be hitting the reset button when we truly didn’t win anything. It is what it is. I hope Ange stays and he builds the club into something special. But unfortunately i do not have faith in ownership.

  21. I still like our chances in Europa this year. Making a deep run there would be a nice distraction from the league struggles.
