If Southgate played Watkins and not the corpse of Harry Kane, we win that

I thought Spain deserved to win that tonight. They were the better team for more of the match. England had a great spell in the 2nd half which fizzled out relatively quickly. When England equalised i thought it would become the familiar playbook of this tournament, but i think Spain were on a different level to the previous rounds imo.

It's sad, but life must go on. Olympics football kicks off in 10 days (24th) to soften the blow; USA v France looks tasty on paper. There's also the u19 Euros starting tomorrow.

Of course, pre-season games will start kicking-off for Premier League clubs soon. Not that I pay much attention to pre-season, just saying there are things to take your mind off the England defeat.

For what it’s worth as an outsider, England are still a lock for the semis imo at the 26WC. The talent is immense.

It’s hard not to think it’ll be Spain, Germany, England and Uruguay at this moment in time.

How many French frontlines would have to be injured for Maupay to get a call up? Not singular injuries but full frontlines. At least 5, right?

I'm sure there's players in Ligue 2 who are better, which is quite coincidental as that's about his level.

Enjoyed the redditor who said Kyle “abandons his man like he abandons his children”

Well at least Kane won’t be there in 2026 I guess

    He came, he saw.

He'll turn 33 just 10 days after the final so you may be onto something here. Of course, much depends on who England's manager is.

Not a good look for the World Cup security.

    there’s a lot of reasons Miami shouldn’t host a big game…

  22. The argument for the WC is that these matches are organized by CONMEBOL. The WC will be organized and ran by FIFA. I’d imagine things will be smoother and higher security. Especially after what’s happen the last week.
