Just went to see if the Bayern game here had gotten cheaper and realized it’s on a Tuesday at 3pm. So that’s a no for me.

That stadium is going to be half empty with it being a weekday afternoon.

 

Spurs had 5 players making over 100k/week this past season.

One of them was Werner. He is now gone.

Son and Romero are two others and both are linked to moves away from the club.

That leaves two players. Maddison and Kulusevski.

For a club as big as Spurs, that is pretty pathetic. Right?

 

Our wage structure has always been baffling and I can guarantee it’s one of the biggest reasons we continue to whiff on some of the bigger transfers. Players know the wages here and don’t want to come here when they can go to other places and get paid way more.

 

Makes it more impressive that they held onto someone like Son.

He must absolutely love the club given he could likely triple his wages at one of the leagues top clubs or somewhere like Bayern. That’s the kind of loyal player every fanbase wants.

I am in Europe from 15-25 so I’ll basically miss the entire group stages and I’m disappointed that means I won’t be making my first trip to Charlotte. That said, I think if Bayern finishes first in the group they play the first stage at Charlotte as well once we get back.

Also if this Spain shows up at the World Cup, no one else has to bother.

 

Some of the players I’m starting to see Spurs linked to makes me think Ange is out and Frank is the next manager.

I don't think it is. A quick look through the estimates for each team doesn't suggest Spurs are massive outliers, particularly considering how many younger players you've signed in the last year or two. Most teams only have a handful of £100k+ a week players.

I think a lot of the salary chat gets really distorted by the small number of players who get paid crazy wages even for players.

Found it pretty shocking that, apparently, Matt Target gets paid £100k at Newcastle. Not entirely convinced by that estimate...

 

Doesn't everyone say Spurs contracts are heavily incentive based anyway? I dunno if that gets included in the "making x/week" conversations, but if they're getting bonuses that take them up like, 25~50k/week on average by the end of the season then it's not gonna be a big deal I imagine, right?

The crazy thing to me is that this Hugo Viana's first full transfer window in the DoF role for City and he is outdoing Txiki which is not what I was expecting. Figured he would take some time to find his footing but he is coming out of the gate sprinting.

Hope it goes well. Had surgery for the first time last year and was absolutely bricking it, but it was totally fine and definitely not worth all the anxiety I felt!

Best bit was when they put in the canular and then said "right, count to 10" or whatever. I began counting, and felt nothing. Said to the anesthetist, "Weird, I feel absolutely f.." and then woke up hours later lol.

I'm an idiot.
