I was trying to describe myself to someone

It's a FIFA event, so it will surely be considered legitimate revenue.

It has raised a question for me though. What happens with foreign tours and the friendly tournaments lots of teams do. Are they fine for revenue as long as a sponsor affiliated with the club doesn't put a disproportionate fee on it?

  2. Two weeks since the Europa win and no decision. How is this possible?

Would seem the Kroenke’s are considering buying a Strasbourg style second team, which sucks.

Even as the main team, and despite the benefits, I do not want us to be part of a shitty MCO model.

Speaking of which, look out for French clubs getting bought for absolute pennies in the next 18 months. Now that the more lucrative deals have ended, Ligue 1 clubs are in real financial trouble.

Isn't there an argument that a few of the clubs will still keep developing talent which in turn might make them money? I mean, Ligue 1 officially brands itself as "the league of talents". It's like they know sort of.

    Talking of talents:

City and Chelsea also in. What a decision for the lad haha.

Salty Newcastle journo are saying that tbh. Fab saying it’ll be similar to other signings Ineos have made. De Ligt is our highest paid signing since they’ve come in at 190k and that’s mostly because of his wage at Bayern. Supposedly Cunha is on a base wage of 150k.

For sure, French clubs will keep producing talent, but they won’t be able to hold on to any of them. It’ll totally ruin any small semblance of competition left in the league too.

There’s also concern bigger clubs than even Bordeaux could go into administration. Teams like St Ettienne (10 titles) and Nantes (8 titles), which is a bit like Everton and Chelsea suddenly disappearing into non league.

Imagine a world where a team like PSG could help the league (somehow)? I was going to say if PSG aren't getting tested on a regular basis, they'd struggle in Europe. It seems like it's the complete opposite, though, especially with PSG's Champions League win. I'd imagine the French government doesn't give a toss either, they'll see PSG being centre stage in Europe as a positive. Especially for public relations with France's far-right problems.

Moreover, remember there's always someone making profit in times of struggle. I mean, Bordeaux's owner Lopez refuses to inject funds and keeps the club "running" for a reason. Textor at Lyon is dodgy and assists the likes of Forest's Marinakis who is a murderer. Rennes, who are actually the richest club in France funnily enough, have an owner who seems to be happy enough to sit back on his wealth. He's been there since 1998 and 4th is the highest they've finished. Boehly's Strasbourg exist as a farm for Chelsea now, Ratcliffe's Nice, etc. If these owners wanted strong French football, they COULD do something about it. What's the reality, though?

PSG’s owners actually did step in last year, by buying the rights via their ownership of BeIN, who split it with DAZN. But the rest of the teams voted to end that after just one year for various reasons.

The PSG thing is interesting. Wonder how they will attract and hold onto good players if they league quality diminishes even further?

Anyway, they want to create an in-house streaming service for the league apparently. Which will be interesting given the long-rumoured PL interest in doing the same.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

I love Tierney, and have him on the back of my 22-23 home shirt. He was such a bright spot in those first three or four seasons, and his down to earth attitude and work ethic really resonated with the fans in a way which other players hadn't been able to do. I love that he scored in his last game and I hope he absolutely kills it at Celtic. Fwiw I absolutely think he could do a job at any mid-table team in the pl, but can totally understand why he's chosen to go back, he loves The Bhoys.

HITC just posted a video on PSG. I haven't watched the whole thing, but the section four minutes in about the wages absolutely astounded me.

The difference between PSG and Inter's wage bills makes it similar to a match between Man City and Watford lol.

Espanyol fans are handling this with appropriate class by spray painting walls around his home and home town with “rat” and “traitor”

  20. I’ve been thinking all along Sane would go to Arsenal or Chelsea over us. I don’t blame him either.

Callum Wilson to Wrexham is gaining steam. Hollywood FC! When fit, he's still a great finisher.

Sometimes I forget why I hate the Portuguese national team. Then I watch one of their games and am instantly reminded of why I do.
