Extra time = advantage Newcastle at the weekend?

5:0 on aggregate vs Leverkusen. After our match in the Bundesliga a month ago that was not expected at all.

Nunez will be chased out the city for that. My word his socials will be a hot bed for criticism.

Fair play to PSG. Donnarumma is so good at saving pens.

Funny that Liverpool get PSG for winning the league in phase compared to Arsenal and Villa’s opponents

I actually love the Man U stadium proposal. Yes it looks like a circus tent but I like that it doesn’t just look like every other stadium. I liked the Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar and thought it was cool walking up to it so maybe I just like big tents

I just know that with Old Trafford there is another stadium that I have to visit before it gets demolished. One more onto the list...

I'm bummed to bow out of the Champions League but fair play to PSG who looked really great, best I've seen them look in ages. Moving on from Mbappe, Messi, and Neymar and focusing on building a cohesive team has served them well. I really like Kvaradonna, Nuno Mendes, and Barcola. I wasn't aware Hakimi had an extra set of lungs

I hope we haven't seen Trent Alexander-Arnold's last match for Liverpool :( if his injury is at all serious, it could be the end of the season for him and I fully expect him to join Real Madrid. I still anticipate Salah and Virgil sign extensions once the season ends. Some people posit that Salah and Virgil have already signed but everyone is keeping it tightly under wraps so as to relieve Trent from being under a toxic microscope. We already saw how toxic the atmosphere around him was at the turn of the year and the United game

I thought Robertson looked good today after being maligned seemingly all season and Gakpo looked decisively unfit such that it makes you wonder why Slot doesn't trust Chiesa, but maybe Chiesa really would somehow be worse than Gakpo who looked like he couldn't run

I love Darwin, been a big advocate of his even when seemingly most Liverpool fans have been fed up with him, but even I would've bet my house on him missing his penalty. I have no clue why he was #2 after Salah, even accounting for Darwin's good career conversion rate. It should've been Virgil after Salah, then maybe Darwin. Also, I would've started Darwin. Jota has looked pretty bad since coming back from his injury, not that Darwin covered himself in glory today or anything—I simply think he would've offered more than Jota when the game was jammy in the first half and early in the second.

Overall, I think I'm mostly bummed that—after the final on Sunday—there are really no more high stakes games for the rest of the season. The Premier League is a foregone conclusion at this point, so the last two months will be procession march

But then obviously I'm ecstatic to win the league, like I had no expectations going into this season, so to come away as league winners and possibly league cup winners is incredible really, the stuff of dreams, and I'm envious of everyone who will get to relish in the parade after not being able to have one during 2020

It will be really interesting to see what this Liverpool team will look like once it's molded the way Slot and Hughes want. I could make a case for Diaz, Darwin, Jota, Elliott, Chiesa, Tsimikas, Gomez, and Kelleher all departing, plus Trent, and possibly Salah and Virgil (doubtful but who knows)

Regardless of who moves on, I hope we get Kerkez and Huijsen from Bournemouth. Some players them

At this point, I'll root for Kane to do the Bundesliga / UCL double. After barely scraping by Celtic, I didn't think they had it in them, but a very convincing R16 tie. I'd say they're good till the Semis, then if it's Barca, they'll be the clear underdog.

On the other side, PSG / Real Madrid looks likely for a semi.

Despite my complaints about the format, if UEFA gets a PSG / Real and a Bayern / Barca semi, it literally could not have gone any better for them as far as the matchups on paper and how many viewers will be interested in that. Could be upsets, but that has to be enticing...

  11. Lamine is incredible. Just saw some highlights from yesterday. He has reignited my interest in Barca haha I used to watch all their games in the 2010s but just kinda phased out interest. Not enough bandwidth lol

So I knew Salah was having a great season, but didn't pay attention to the goal count. Unlikely, but it'd be insane if the record that Haaland broke last year that stood for so long, was beat the next season. 10 goals in the final 9 games??

And you were worried it wouldn't sell out? Seeing Tierney as a winger is essential viewing.

The goal was quick, but still a full 18 seconds behind Roy Makaay's record. Makes you wonder how quickly that one happened.

Yeah, I’ve been saying for ages that they aren’t that defensive, agricultural team people think they are.

    Real are being dominated.
