VDV, Romero, Solanke all returning to the squad today. So, naturally, Kulu has a random foot injury and will be out for a few weeks. Regardless, it will be very nice to have our starting CBs back. I think they will be game changers for us.

 

Would you be content with sacrificing a decent league position in order to win the Europa? Looking at the table, i can't see Spurs qualifying for Europa through league position. Not due to ability, the teams there already are just too good to topple imo. I know it's dangerous for players to play without a competitive "edge" but I guess Ange could tell them on the side that it's the Europa that's REALLY important.

 

I’d 100% focus on Europa and just be happy finishing 10th in the league. I think with a fairly healthy squad, which we are close to having, we can win Europa. And it would be a much bigger achievement for the club than going on a run and maybe qualify for Conference League.

 

Actually, looking at the table, 11th is the most realistic scenario if we did hit good form in the league. The gap is already too big to get to top 8 or whatever it’d take for a Euro comp this year. So yeah, absolutely make Europa the focus.

Tel isn’t ready for the amount of minutes he’s been forced to play since he arrived. We are really lacking a threat up top.

 

Sucks to be down at half. Unfortunate OG for Bergvall because he’s been solid outside of that moment. I think it’s obvious we’re the better team, we just have to be more decisive and aggressive. Moving too slow.

He deserves some blame tonight for sure. We’re healthier than we have been in recent months but still without top 2 CFs and both CBs and Kulu while starting 3 teenagers away from home. So tonight was never going to be easy. But we definitely look worse than we should.

 

The difference today has been AZ playing noticeably harder and more aggressive. They are all over us. And we are inviting it all while not being aggressive ourselves. It’s hard to gain any kind of momentum when you’re being outran to every ball.

 

Solanke comes on for 20 mins and leaves injured lol

 

Luckily we have 90 mins at home to overcome that. But pretty shit.

 

I guess Spurs will heavily rotate this weekend then? Otherwise they’ll be in trouble with AZ having a week off.
