Honestly, this new champions league format is absolutely baffling to me. Yea yea yea, no one likes change blah blah, but it's just out of left field... You're all in one league, but you'll be seeded, and then we'll draw between seeds, and then rank you all against each other despite different difficulties and then we'll go into a playoff all the way down to the 24th out of 36 teams... so you can be 24th out of 36th and potentially move on.

Nope. don't like it one bit.

And no, I'm not a salty City fan who's mad they got left out. I just don't think it's a reasonable or well structured format.

So Man City and Real Madrid could be the 1st knockout game? (If things don't change and the draw goes that way?).



EDIT: As I typed this, Bayern jumped to 12 but point still stands with questioning if I understand the drawn parameters.

I thought he played pretty well in the first half, but it really isn't working for him at Arsenal. Praying we're able to bring in at least one forward this window but man the clock is ticking.

 

We’re straight through and will play one of Juventus/Feyernoord/PSV/Milan in the ro16

 

Man City either gets us or Real in the play-offs

 

There's so many 'what ifs' for us but if we had beaten Brugge or Zagreb instead of drawing then we could be playing Monaco / Brest. If we'd got beat 4-1 off Dortmund instead of 7-1, then we'd have finished a place higher and played AC / PSV.

Read somewhere that prior to the game, our potential opponents were Bayern / Real Madrid and it changed 15 times during the games and we still ended up with them as our draw.

 

I hate being that guy and talking about my bets….but at the beginning of the season I did a little parlay picking the winner of each euro competition
