We have literally no fit fullbacks. Spurs able to put out a whole fullback team but have no centre backs.

Probably just as Shaw is now fit and Malacia returning by the end of January. He performed okay, but was only ever emergency depth. Plus, imagine Spurs would rather he go somewhere he can play and be in the shop window, rather than rot as fourth/fifth choice for United

I hope Manchester United just sell everybody including the club.

  5. I wish we’d take a flyer on him if it’s going to be a loan.

Sancho is like the anti-Ange player. No effort at all off the ball. No stamina - he was knackered every game after 60 minutes without fail for United, and that's at a team that got away with standing around for large periods.

The Ramble calling Wayne Rooney “the Liz Truss of football” is a particularly brutal, yet accurate takedown.

The AFCON and AFC Asia Cup have absolutely ransacked my fantasy team. ffs I can either use my wildcard to replace 6 folks now, or be left with scrubs when they all come back...

I feel more plugged into British slang than most Americans and I’ve never heard “nonce” before

Means paedophile basically. You hear it a lot, mostly as teasing to mates. But hear it in football chanting quite a lot too - famously "Fuck off Adam Johnson, you're going down for noncing"

In no world is 28 year old Akanji worth anywhere close to 90 million lol. Him and Rico lewis might fetch half of those amounts.

    hmmm

I'm not sure the concept of value has any fence in football now.

I have never heard nonce in connection with being a pedo. I always thought it was a replacement for a div / a plonker etc. IE - you're a bit stupid / bit of a simpleton etc. The more you know I guess.

  22. Arsenal wearing their charity kits this weekend. And tomorrow Spurs are doing a tribute during their match to a 16 year old fan who was recently stabbed to death. Would be cool to see the two clubs come together for something at the next NLD as it’s obviously a cause Arsenal is involved with and something that Spurs are feeling now.

I think it’s old prison slang, right? Not On Normal Courtyard Exercise, or something similar. I think it was given to rapists, peadophiles, and others who were likely to get targeted by other prisoners.

Anyway. Good to know he meant something else but he definitely shouldn’t be saying it here lol.

New episode of Football Weekly is really good. It’s called The Future of Football, and covers FIFA vs UEFA, suoer league, the multiclub model, sportswashing, the build up of fixtures and player welfare, and a few other bits.
