Looks like Chelsea are leading the race for Tel, due to possibility of a swap deal with Nkunku.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

    Of course they are.

The referees can't win though - be open about the abuse you receive? You're just changing the narrative away from the decisions you made. It isn't a PR campaign to ensure the safeguarding of the officials that help the game run.

Diomande has gotten away with a lot worse without any punishment so it's not a surprise that outcome has been reached.

Boniface has chosen the dark side, I see. I guess the positive to come out of it is Xabi Alonso wants to work with Evan Ferguson as a replacement - if rumours are correct.

reported today that Brighton have turned down a permanent deal for Ferguson but that they’re open to selling him. I think he goes for loan with obligation to buy if they hit like 55-70 million for him. I’ll be honest, I think he’s overrated. He scored a hat trick against Newcastle, then 3 times in the next 11 games, then nothing for like 15 months. Between the ineffectiveness, lack of consistent health it’s been tough to see him in Brighton beyond this summer at most.

It can be two things simultaneously, I think.

It is both very important to protect the referees and their families as people, and can be a well-timed PR move to cover for the organisation like they did following the Diaz incident.

The thing that tipped it for me was the weirdly worded headline today that made it sound like Oliver couldn’t referee the Arsenal vs City game because he can’t leave his house. When actually it’s because he’s doing the Merseyside Derby instead.

Obviously none of this makes the abuse okay, but I’ve said that like five times lol

  8. Jamie Donley having a great loan at Leyton Orient. Two assists and a ridiculous goal today.

Honestly, the big fault for me is VAR not having him look at that tackle. I can get refs on the pitch get stuff wrong because they’re human. The fuck is the point of var if they also just go “yep looks good” to bad calls

Dorgu deal coming in at a very respectable price, if he tops out as a versatile squad option and not a bonafide world beater LWB it won’t be the end of the world given the fee.

Would be so pissed to lose tel so I hope it’s a loan.

I know no one wants Gnabry/sane/coman, but losing a really good young player with potential just because we are stuck with the other three feels like doubling down on a bad decision. Especially if it’s to make room for Nkunku, an older and injury prone player.

keep tel, give him time at the expense of the other three. And if you want Nkunku, bring him in at their expense too.

Would be cool. I don’t expect us to sign him but he’s going to be a decent signing for any of the three teams mentioned here (including Arsenal from previous post)

  18. Sounds like there’s about 10 clubs interested in Tel lol

Yeah, he’d be a great get for any club.

Hopefully us being able to offer CL football is a clincher but who knows.

That’s because he’s fucking good! Which is why not keeping him and giving him playing time is stupid!

Yeah I think Arsenal makes most sense if he’s looking for playing time this season. CL plus injuries to Saka and Jesus. He’d get a fair bit of playing time with us with Rashford out of the squad and Garnacho maybe going. But we’re a mess sooooo

As much as I hate it, you can’t dismiss the Man Utd pull. They’re the biggest club in the country and arguably the third biggest in the world. Evidently, players and managers are willing to be a part of that mess to say that were a United player.

  25. Vicario, VDV, Bissouma, Richarlison all back in full training. Sarr is “fine” but didn’t train today.

There’s a little bit of light.
