Brighton down go 3 cb’s as Igor has to have surgery on his hamstring and is done for the year. I hope we snag a cb in January.

Oh, I wasn't really aiming that at you. What you said seemed fine. It's been going on for years with him.

I thought this when they abolished replays. If there’s more than one division between the teams, then the smaller one should choose home or away.

Spurs should have to pay Tamworth however much they would’ve made for playing a replay

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Amazing this only comes up when it’s Spurs. I agree that they need to change it, but still.

  9. Tamworth won the previous rounds in PKs and benefited from not having a replay.

If it's the money they're after, Spurs shoud just give them a pre-sseason friendly with the home gate proceeds going to Tamworth.

Don't Arsenal do similar with Barnet every pre-season?

  11. I don’t know I’m torn on all of it. Tamworth hosting that match is probably the main reason they almost won. They had a real chance in the last minute. If the game was at Tottenham it likely would’ve been more of a battering.

It depends on what it deemed more valuable to a club like that. A monumental win that will be remembered forever, or a trip to London and a bigger payday that would benefit the club in the long run more than the historic victory.

Sadly, it’s 100% the money. A replay at Spurs would have netted them £1M, while their entire operating costs for a year are £1.6M.

Plus, it’s already an unfair match really, when Kulsevski costs like four times as much as the club itself. So why not let them choose next time, if we’re really not going to do replays. At least then they have the choice.

I actually like this as an idea, although the issue is that wouldn’t be televised I guess.

But yeah, we play Barnet every preseason and they get all the money from it. We also rent their stadium for our B team matches, I believe.

  13. Yeah, I think letting them decide where it’s played is the way to go

@orangehorizon will know more than me here, but I'm sure in Germany the smaller teams are guaranteed a home tie in the Pokal. I've always liked that as an idea.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

Knowing how much it's meant to local teams around me like Dover and Ramsgate over the last 10 years, home ties can literally prop team finances up for seasons afterwards if managed correctly.

I can only see it as a good thing as it should help towards evening out the finances for smaller teams who are at a complete financial disadvantage and need these bumper crowds literally (in some cases) to survive.

Whilst I don't like the scrapping of the replays from the smaller teams' perspective, I think the financial element to it is a bit of a warning flag more than anything. If teams need a big windfall like that to survive for years afterwards, it really just reinforces that our pyramid has some serious financial woes.

I do like the idea that the smaller team gets to choose the venue though. Money aside, if you play for Scarborough or something and get the choice to play at Anfield rather than at home, would you not want to get to do that once?

Also, the away sections at these stadiums can be bigger than their entire home capacity. So if you want all your fans to see it, that might factor in.

  19. Looks like we both made loan options and it’s up to the player. Italian media has been claiming his preferred destination is Juve all along.

Apparently the FA are considering scrapping extra time and going straight to pens, which I’m all for. Extra time is always ugly football anyway, and in this climate of over scheduled football calendars that rings even more true.

Juventus play Atalanta tonight. Going into the game, their record is 7 wins, 12 draws, 0 losses.

    Impressively mid.

  25. I think we wanted RKM to play RW. Or at least they liked the versatility he brought being able to do both. Whoever we do bring in will probably have to offer that.
