Clearly many German teams do well in the European competitions so the league is stronger than it appears, but until Bayern actually has consistent competition in the league, that’ll only get worse. Two of those 11 seasons were won with a points gap approaching 30. Dortmund got within 3 points three times, but besides that, huge gaps.

 

I’ve started teetering on picking up the Werner option. I think he’s been pretty good for us. I’m basically at, if we do let him go, we better have a stud lined up. The price of his option is too good of value to pass on unless we bag someone like Nico.

 

Who could have foreseen this huge conflict of interests ending this way?

I think it mostly stems from the missed penalty. If that play doesn’t happen and we just lose 3-2 without controversy it wouldn’t be as bad. But that incident broke everyone as soon as it happened. And people just spiral from there.
