as usual, the kit on the players looks better than on mannequins

still not fully in on it but I can already see it growing on me

excited about the leaked move to Adidas in 25/26 if only for the possibility of long sleeve kits returning

New kits really are the biggest load of shite, aren't they? I feel sorry for those who feel compelled to buy the latest, particularly those who can't really afford them.

one of the bigger culture shocks for me as an American getting into soccer was the idea that teams get new jerseys every year

my local baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, has essentially had the same home and away jerseys for decades now. there was like a year or two when I was a kid when they decided to not have last names on the back (an homage to like a century ago when that was the norm), but otherwise it’s simply remained the same

some teams do undergo brand refreshes, like the Arizona Diamondbacks seem to do a pretty major overhaul every like 5 years, but that’s fairly abnormal

lol yeah. He was good last night, a bit of the Sancho of old. But he’s got the same g/a as Antony since Jan. he’s not been that good for them overall. Hopefully he’s excellent between now and the end of the season and we get a decent price for him.

Roberto De Zerbi, welcome to Bayern!

Apparently if De Zerbi leaves, Brighton are going after Kieran McKenna.

Gotta say, it’s kinda funny to see Bayern having a problem finding a coach. Consequences, etc.

I know stones and glass houses, etc., but still.

Alternatively, Brighton could get Will Still.

Also, I feel like the new whole “three new kits every year” thing is fairly new.

I think from mid 90’s to mid 00’s, it was fairly common for at least the home kit to stay the same for two or three years. And if it did change, it was very minor. Arsenal’s last unchanged kit was 06/07 & 07/08 I think. Away kits always fluctuated but I guess manufacturers realised they could cash in.

I tend to get one jersey every season from my dad, as it’s just a tradition from when we used to go most weeks together, as my birthday is on or around the first weekend of the PL season. But on a good year I have gotten a second. I just collect them I guess.

Obviously got kits as a kid through to early teens, including some embarrassing goalkeeper ones, but as a fully grown adult i wouldn't be caught dead in one lol. Personal taste, I guess.

I love buying shirts, but would never buy one full price. Wait 6 months and they're down to £20 in JD Sports.

  17. MLS has a decent setup with their jerseys. Each team has two. Each season one of the two changes. So each jersey is in use for two years. Still a little ridiculous but not quite as bad.

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

I've slowed down on buying shirts. I went through a 3 year run where I was getting 2-3 from DHGate. I'm not able to wear them as much right now so I'll only buy if I absolutely love the shirt. I did buy the treble winners shirt from Man City last year. In my current job it's better if I buy a polo since I can wear that more often.

I get all my jerseys on DHgate. 20 quid a pop. I generally wear them around the house or if I’m doing something in the garden.

  24. Curious who Ange starts at LB today. Udogie and Davies both out for rest of the season. Easy guess would be Emerson but that always terrifies me.
