Part of me does feel the tiniest bit of sympathy for Pogba. A player whose body just couldn't keep itself together. You can sort of see why he might have resorted cheating after so many years of his body falling apart. Obviously dumb and deserves the punishment, but still.

New Totally Football podcast goes into detail on the Everton appeal. Apparently the paperwork specifies the only acceptable punishment for FFP/financial mismanagement is a point’s deduction for each breach - setting up a precedent for Chelsea and City I think.

It also says that 6pts is the baseline, and it is dialled up or down based on severity and attitude. Essentially, Everton and Forest are going to get another deduction but less than 6pts is likely.

They also said the appeals will take place five days after the league finishes.

 

I harbor no ill will towards Marcus, in fact I was constantly defending him when he had that rough year and a half before his 30 goal year last year. What I will say is that this season in particular we have genuinely seen a lack of effort on the pitch that is inexcusable for a Manchester United player. I promise you that we wouldn’t need yet another PR piece if he was doing his tracking back, wasn’t pulling out of challenges, wasn’t half assing his aerial contests, etc.
