Pretty sure that Bakker lad just won a competition to get a game. What a horrid performance from him.

Can't stand psg and the fact that this ref has been garbage makes this all the worse.

0-1 is probably the score that hurts the most. So close but still out.

I dont even know what to think of this game. We were not good, significantly worse than in the first leg. Why does Hansi sub off Choupo for Javi? That was weird. Why does Sane look like he doesn't care in the last weeks? Phonzie was shokingly bad too today. Müller was completely taken out of the game (that was probably PSGs best feat today). The only one not to blame today is Neuer, he single-handedly kept us in the game with another world class performance.

And what was this ref? It's a CL quarter final ffs, how do we get 2 incompetent refs in both legs? Liverpool-Real got Brych and Kuipers and we get those 2 idiots? You'd think an Italian ref would spot a dive from 100m away but not Orsato. Again no crass mistake but also no straight line in his refereeing at all and several very weird decisions. Navas fouls his own player and gets a freekick???

Let's hope Dortmund somehow pulls it off tomorrow and if not then Real or Liverpool hopefully win the whole thing.

Yeah your performance definitely wasn't as good tonight, although I still thought you rallied well. You didn't have the same flow as last week; Kimmich's switching was much sloppier, Muller didn't find the space in the channels as he had done, Sane's decision making was off when he got the ball. Obviously with Alaba in midfield, you needed Davies to get a better grip of Di Maria, which he didn't, and Alaba had to help him out at times which took a man out of the centre. The Martinez-Choupo change was a head scratcher, probably the sort of change a manager makes just to 'do something' in a desperate situation.

Neuer was fantastic. What an unbelievable competitor.

I didn’t watch the match, but all the neutral folks I follow who watched it think it was a perfectly balanced and reffed game. Also that Neymar had the best performance you can have without scoring.

Bayern fans are salty af about all of it, though.

Sure, this is pretty standard fare, but it’s really pronounced today as someone just seeing stuff about the match here and Twitter.

Then you probably don't follow "neutral" folks. If you think that Navas bumping into a PSG defender should get PSG a free kick then the ref did a fine job. And this is only one of the many questionable decisions.

Never said he had a bad game. For his standards it was a good game. But that unfortunately involves a lot of diving and playing the victim. It's just what he does. One does not have to like it. I know you are a fan of him so that obviously doesn't affect you too much. But many people will continue to hate him because of it (and rightfully so).

Most of the comments I have read were quite reasonable. Ask any neutral and they will say that Bayern should have advanced over both legs. I mean we should have easily scored at least 5 in the first leg alone.

Love that this kinda proved my point.

I follow mostly journalists, so, yeah... they're kinda the definition of neutral in a sport. Shit like that happens every game; it's frustrating, but if it's the one pivotal point to why your team lost... the other 179 minutes were wasted.

"For his standards," lmao like he's not one of the top ten players on the planet when healthy. I think he's a blast to watch play, always have, but he is never someone I would call myself a "fan" of. He played for my team and gave me some great memories.

From what I gather, Bayern could've let in just as many goals to start off this match. Pretty sure I saw in this thread that Neymar hit the woodwork three times in the first half. Those are the breaks. It's not about the eye test, it's about the goals in the net. Bayern shouldn't have shipped three in the first game if they should've won over both legs. Is this a different tie with Lewandowski and Gnabry? 100%. But Bayern had no business losing this tie. PSG went out and took it.

If you think that journalists are the definition of neutral then you gotta learn a thing or two still...

I don't know what you want to say with this comment? I never doubted Neymar is one of the best players around. But that does not mean one can hate the way he behaves on the pitch.

Not sure what you want to say here either. Of course Bayern should have done better in the first leg. 30-6 shots on goal speak for themselves. But even with todays game we could have done better. In the end it was just one goal that separated the outcome. Given the chances today then PSG easily had the better chances but overall with both legs in mind Bayern were the better team (by far) and should have advanced easily. That was my point.

Repeat of this tonight would be nice.

Milner starting tonight over Thiago. Jota benched too. I guess Klopp wants to make sure we don't concede the away goal (Firmino's work will help with that, closing down Kroos) but that midfield is a big risk. Our pressing has to be stellar because that's neither the most creative midfield nor the best for retaining possession. And slow too.

Major emphasis on Firmino to create an extra player in midfield, in and out of possession.

Kudela banned for 10 games means we are all deprived of Granit Xhaka’s breaking his legs which is very sad.

Firmino in there has made so much difference compared to the first leg. Getting the numbers in midfield out of possession has stopped Kroos and Modric being able to pick out long passes and helped us press much better. And when we have the ball we have someone between the lines to play off.

Shame Salah and Gini didn't take their chances. Real have everyone coming short to the ball because of our pressing so we haven't had any real worries in behind. Just need more quality. Mane's running is more of a problem for them than his passing or dribbling, aside from one moment early on. Asensio's dropping back to help him but we need to have more of a go at Valverde who can't defend at right back. Trent has space but is slighty overhitting his crosses. Jota and Thiago coming on at some point should make a difference as long as we don't concede before then.
