I do find it funny that you’d be hard pressed to find such an intense rivalry between two teams who are such pessimistic woe is me fan bases I think.

Absolute heap of a match. I knew Newcastle would be bad, but I was surprised at how terrible Villa were as well. Dwight Gayle is a waste of a shirt. I'd rather have Carroll galloping about maybe doing something, rather than Gayle who offers nothing at all.

 

Yeah Villa were even worse than you.

I actually felt sorry watching Gayle try to play off the left. He's never quite been a Premier League level no.9 but he certainly isn't going to suddenly put in performances playing wide.

 

Yeah, Coquelin got sent off for a second yellow in like 5 minutes. Peak Arsenal.

He's one of those players who just can't make the step up in the top division. He's scored bags of goals multiple seasons in the Championship for both West Brom and Newcastle (maybe some others too), but he's never cut it after promotion for anyone.

 

I'm actually more shocked Willians not starting.
