Mount has impressed me again

 

Chelsea could do with creating more chances but they're in total control of the flow of this game.

Spurs are man marking Kovacic and Jorginho and Chelsea are bypassing them with ease. James and Alonso pushing up onto the Spurs full backs means Spurs have few options to play out. It's so easy.

Obviously Kane's a huge miss but Reguilon is too.

 

Mou really sat and watched that entire half and thought to himself "perfectly to plan, let's keep things exactly the same", huh?

 

Remember when Spurs fans decided Mou had it again because he was funny in a documentary?

 

I mean, we were getting results and scoring goals. Of course we were happy.

 

Bah who needs facts

 

The horrific flashbacks. Lukaku walking around following the centre backs when they had the ball. Fellaini going towards the opposition midfielders and falling back as soon as they look at him.

 

The team's trajectory with Jose has been pretty weird.

Started out in pretty good form the first several weeks which is fairly typical when a new manager comes on.

Then we got hit with a barrage of injuries. The team was decimated and it started to show in the results.

Then in the restart we were decent to good and climbed to 6th place which I thought was a success based on how the season was prior to Jose taking over.

This year started out well and we climbed to top of the table. We were playing like a team completely bought in and confident.

Then the last month happened. And it's been so, so bad.

 

Has he rotated much? Could be exhaustion? They always look out of ideas without Kane too.

 

They only play through Kane and Son. Zero creativity. Zero adaptability. I’m over it. Mou has been a tactical disaster in the last month when teams caught on to our game plan. But yet we still keep doing the same thing over and over.

 

I think he's rotated fine but the players do look tired. But I also don't think that is an excuse because every team is tired. It's been a tough season for all teams. I think it is a tactical problem combined with the same dumb players making the same dumb mistakes (Dier, Aurier, Sanchez etc). The one constant between the Poch and Jose era is those players making crucial mistakes.

 

Team needs a complete defensive overhaul, and to not rely on 2 players to score all our goals to have a chance

 

Aurier needs to be a RWB because he can't be trusted defensively. And I think Jose wanted to try that but we also have shit CBs so it doesn't work lol

 

100%. Another winger or midfielder chipping in with 15+ or so a season would completely transform the team.

 

It’s so weird that Ndombele and Hojbjerg have had such good seasons and yet I walk away from games thinking we got destroyed in the middle of the field. To me, that means it’s tactical, right?

 

It’s definitely tactical. Those two have been great for us, but with the way we play it ends up being for nothing.
