Southampton are deceptively shite aren't they? Plenty of teams go down to 10 men but don't get anywhere near 9-0 losses, and they've got two in the past 2 seasons!

To be fair, they were only 6 down with 10 men. 7, 8, and 9 came with 9 men.

Anyone else quite pleased to see things starting to work out for him? Looked great at Southampton, got one (maybe more) nasty injuries early on in his United career and then get got Mourihno'd.

 

Thankfully it did.

I'm delighted. I've loved him as a player since he was at Southampton. There was only the one big injury, a lot of smaller niggling ones, but the big thing was how it affected him mentally. Neither LVG nor Mourinho wanted to be involved in that side of managing him. In fact, both seemed to hate him so much they went out of their way to make it worse. LVG calling him fat and unfit and Mourinho’s “his body, my brain”.


He also somehow learned to cross since September. He used to be good going forward but never dangerous to the opposition. The best part of his game is link up play with the attackers, he’s a very good passer of the ball. But somehow since Telles has come in he’s found a wicked cross with a great balance between speed and curl.

 

On the plus side, Southampton really took some heat off us lol.
