I almost agree with it lol, obviously all players play their part but there is no player who influences their team more in the whole league than him with MUFC - He single-handedly drags the rest of them forwards by the scruff of their damn necks!

  2. Yeah, I agree with that. I think Kane is somewhat close to being as important but Son usually does fine playing CF when he's out. United can't really replace Bruno.

I was just laughing at the 33 points to 1 point.....I think starting a new season kinda helped that too haha

Absolutely agree that they can't replace him, the standard of the whole team drops without him. United of the 80's + 90's have a certain "mystique" to me and I like reading articles etc. about them, and Bruno's impact is similar to players like Roy Keane in the 90s/Bryan Robson back in the 80s - him being on the pitch takes them from a 6 or 7 out of 10 up to an 8 or even 9 out of 10 purely by the standards he sets.

Kane is the same as that for Spurs in terms of his goalscoring threat, but I don't watch Spurs enough to gauge the impact he has on the overall mentality and standards of the team (I feel Mourinho is still the guy that controls that from the sidelines)

I've only been able to find it in youth and women's sizes, and my local soccer store is most likely closed. When I go to their site, it doesn't give me the US store, lol.

  7. Spurs have only lost 4 league matches (2 of which are to Liverpool) and we are still in all 3 cup competitions....yet this season feels awful. But if I'm being honest, looking at it that way is a little optimistic. 6 draws, 3 of which we blew at the end, explains most of the story. We haven't been terrible, but we haven't been consistently good either.

Yeah, it was deflating even with the team coming in on barely decent form. I think our weaknesses were pretty clearly exposed by a better team.

The lack of a CM next to Hojbjerg became obvious when we switched back to a back 4 in the second half. Winks has proven again he can't play at a top level. Sissoko has been better and I was confused why he stayed on the bench. But regardless, I don't think he is good enough either.

The biggest area of need that was highlighted was CB. I feel like we have a bunch of guys that are just decent there. Toby has fallen off which was expected. Sanchez just never took the next step. And Dier is what he is. Strong leader, mediocre player. Rodon was a bright spot outside of his big mistake that gave up the 3rd goal, but we shouldn't be relying on him or expecting him to be a consistent starter right now.

Toby and Jan were a phenomenal pairing. They've both aged and one is now gone and for some reason we haven't done anything to replace them. Rodon is cool but he is somewhat of a project. We should've bought someone like him 2 years ago so they'd be able to step in a replace Jan. But we didn't. What's new.

And not being able to score more than 1 goal when they had that CB pairing is inexcusable. Not to rip on their players, but you gotta be able to take advantage of players playing an entire game out of position.

NBC Sports Network shutting down by end of 2021

My apologies if this has already been posted - but is anyone else super irritated by this? Intentionally putting Premier League behind the Peacock paywall... obviously I'll pay it but it doesn't make it any less fucked up.

Only the position of the ball is important. From that angle it's difficult to tell if its on the line or not.

  16. I've also read that Aurier came in shouting at Lloris and Dier for not communicating and it resulted in Lloris and Aurier in each others face. Then after Jose made the changes Aurier went off on him and left. So I don't think we can completely blame Jose for Aurier acting like that.

I'm more upset with Jose as an actual manager in the game. He hasn't been making good subs imo and we still lack a plan of attack without Kane.

It is super irritating, but I fully switched over to illegal streams for all sports a few years ago, haven’t looked back. Fuck every single broadcast network, cable provider, and streaming service out there. Until I can watch games through an a la carte subscription at a reasonable rate, i’m going with the free option.

wasn’t jose’s whole bit in the documentary that the team was too nice and needed to be hard asses a bit?

serge being fired up and getting after the guys who he thinks (wrongly in hugo’s case, rightly in dier’s) might be responsible for poor play seems like ... exactly what jose was encouraging?

  19. I don’t think Aurier was wrong for going after other guys but he shouldn’t leave the stadium when being subbed off. Jose wanted to change formation and it was either Aurier or Doherty. I would’ve chosen Aurier. And like I said Jose has been bad with his subs imo.
