Never thought I would be saying this, but Elneny was so good. Literally limitless energy, good first touch, can keep the ball in tight spaces and has good passes in every direction. Alongside this he’s a consistently good performer.

Him chasing down and winning the ball on the 92nd minute from a terrified looking United player was a great example of this.

  2. United gonna wait around and let Poch go somewhere else and then sack Ole

I mean, I understand Hjobjerg being upset with the challenge before the Brighton goal, but maybe if Son and Kane both hadn’t embarrassingly dived in front of the ref just before, he might have been believed?

Bale looks like a fucking avenger in that post match interview. Neck and shoulders like a Portaloo. Wouldn’t mess.

Referees were having a great time in the Spurs Brighton game...

Kane and Son playing for penalties all the time is a pretty ugly watch. Even the actual penalty against Lallana was questionable.

  13. “All the time” lol give me a break

I’m not saying what they did today was ok. It was embarrassing. But that is not something that happens “all the time”.

I've not really phrased it well. It was in a highlights package, so it looked especially bad from two players that good.

Kane is absolutely getting a reputation for the whole 'looking for contact' thing though. If he had a name which confused gammons, he'd be on the naughty step with Mo Salah and Fernandes.

Kane is a great player but he is a diver. Simple. It works for him and fair play, but it’s also fair to call him out for it. Especially when it is dangerous play like what he does there is.

  17. I think with the penalty the ref called it a foul without realizing Kane was actually in the box, or on the line of the box. If he would’ve been aware of that I don’t think he would’ve blown his whistle for the foul/penalty. But once it went to VAR it was out of his hands and since it was called a foul and Kane was in the box it had to be a penalty. I think it was harsh and unfortunate but I get why it was called that way.

Regarding the Hojbjerg incident, I really don’t get that one. It was clear foul and it lead to a goal. I kept hearing “well Brighton deserves a goal for how they were playing”. Sorry but no. They were playing well and controlled possession but never really threatened Lloris up until that goal. I cannot believe the ref went to the monitor and stood by his call.

I'm not sure I'm a fan of that. In both cases, the player is looking at the ball and making a natural motion in an attempt to play it. I don't understand how Kanes's action isn't the actual foul. He is impeding their ability to actually play the ball, no?

  19. My thing is, diving is such a rampant problem in the sport it just bugs me when fans try to make it so individualized. Like, it sucks. But I’m not going to act like he’s the poster example of it. We see it with so many players on majority of teams.

I think they got too hung up on the fact that the Brighton player got a little touch on the ball, but then ignored the fact that he had to go through the Spurs player with his trailing leg to do it.

Yeah, Kane's is 100% the foul. He's endangering these players and doing it knowingly.

Yeah I sort of agree, but we shouldn't normalise it. We need to keep criticising it. If an Arsenal player does it, I'll still criticise it, so it isn't a "gotcha" moment. I just wish Kane stopped doing it lol.

  22. Outside of the ref’s decisions and the dives, it was a shit performance from Spurs. They were really playing well together for a few weeks there and now that seems gone. Not sure what the issue is. Maybe it’s fatigue. But they need to step it up or they’ll start giving away more of these games.

    Basically:

Spurs penalty was a free kick to Brighton
Brighton's goal was a free kick to Spurs

Spurs last goal was awful markng and Brighton lost because of it. Fair result despite awful refereeing.

  24. I think it’ll be a thing until the refs start disciplining it more often. But at the same time, I absolutely don’t trust these refs to make those judgements lol

Bayern Munich have withdrawn their latest contract offer to David Alaba and said that, as the deadline they imposed has passed without him signing, they will not be offering him one full stop. He will therefore be able to sign a pre-contract with another club in January! One of the best players in the world available for free lol, every top-tier club will make an offer to him.
