Literally nuts how the board operates like clockwork. Poor season and miss out on Top 4, sack manager then invest and back new manager, finish Top 4, fail to improve squad and build on momentum, then back to the beginning to go all over again.

This window is the exact same as the Fred, Dalot, Grant window. VDB is Fred, and Dean is Grant. We will sign some young player that won’t play and the board will be happy out.

it’s fucking crazy that the board aren’t building in the success and goodwill from the restart. Our fan base will be nuclear next week if we lose.

I hate posting clearly stolen tweets from a betting company. But fuck that would be so good.

Lot of parallels to the Moyes window too. Spending the whole window chasing a target that we're not going to get to make it seem like they're being proactive. Not even being linked to players these days, aside from Reguillon which was a non-starter from the very beginning.

It's so infuriating being a fan of United. Obviously fans of other teams have it so much worse than us majority of the time, but it's infuriating being on the precipice of being able to challenge again, but being hamstrung by the incompetent board and knowing this season is probably going to be filled with infighting and playing the blame game when everything goes wrong. Also sucks that my childhood hero will probably be kicked out of the club by Christmas despite it being entirely avoidable.

Speaking of Moyes, just been reminded of this. Life is pain.

Completely agree. I’m fully prepared for us to struggle to get top 6, never mind top 4.

We have a good first team but no depth, no rotation.

and LVG turning down Kroos happened the following summer. We could have had Thiago/Kroos in midfield lol

Queue Ole in his weekend presser having to claim "it'll be like a new signing!". Least our summer is over now and I can stop checking about it...

  15. If you would have told me right before kickoff of our CL final that in a little over a year Jose Mourinho would be our manager and Gareth Bale was coming home.....and the same day we’d be playing away to Plovdiv in a EL qualifier....I’d call you crazy.

I'm going to be so god damn emotional when I see Bale take the pitch for Tottenham again. I cannot believe this.

  18. i’m not sure this makes much football sense, but the last year or so at the club has been miserable enough that i’m just gonna enjoy the fun of it and dive into the nostalgia of when i started following tottenham

  19. I can see it being a risk but considering we’re just paying wages, and will make more than that in shirt sales within a couple hours, it’s a pretty low risk.

If we get a motivated Bale he can still be really good. I’m more worried about health though.

Reguilon deal will be over looked for obvious reasons but that is such a massive upgrade. Davies cannot be your starter if you want trophies.

yeah getting the two at the same time, especially for the cost that we got them, is pretty huge, even if Bale isn’t what he used to be

Considering you are paying £150,000 a week, I don't think in today's financial climate that you'll make all of that up in a few hours.

Not to say it isn't a good deal or whatever, I honestly can't decide.

I swear to god if we get Aouar I'm gonna lose my shit. Imagine if we get him AND Partey...

Unless Spurs have a unique deal, I don't think they'll be seeing much (if any) of the shirt sale proceeds either. Think I've read previously that clubs get about a 10% usually?

This was part of my reasoning. £150k p/w is about 5.4 million. So they aren't getting almost any of that back, and they're losing a big chunk of their budget.

If he hits form then it's a steal, but if he struggles... It's a big gamble.
