I was trying to describe myself to someone

Haha. Small world. When I go running I often go round a route which takes me through Blaise, onto the Portway and then come back through Seamills, so I run right past their ground. One of my friends writes for a football magazine and recommended Manor as a nice non-league club to get behind.

Yeah, pre-COVID I was thinking about going to watch a game or two since I imagine it's cheap so might be a bit of fun. I live up on the edge of Southmead so it's not much bother getting there, so maybe when things get back to normal I'll go have a look.

Ollie Watkins close to signing for Villa. Good signing, ridiculous fee if £28m is correct.

  4. That is certainly higher than I expected but I like Ollie a lot so I think it'll work out.

Be twice the ocean. Be twice the land.

That is a hell of a lot! Hopefully he takes to the Premier league better than Che Adams did last season.

Also, will that fee impact how much Villa would be willing to spend on Emi Martinez? I haven't seen any departures which would mitigate that cost.

I shouldn't think so. Some clubs don't care about net spend and Villa are amongst them.

  7. Patson Daka is a name that has come out of nowhere, being linked to basically every big 6 club. I don't know much about him other than he replaced Haaland at Salzburg and put up equally as impressive goal numbers. Seems worth a punt but it also feels like his agent doing some work here.

  8. good read

Leeds are trying trying to sign Julian Draxler. Can’t describe how thoroughly depressing that is considering we’ve spent the summer trying to knock the Josh Windass fee down from £500k to £450k.

  10. I'm always more optimistic than I should be, but this Amazon doc has reminded me how well Spurs were playing before the injuries came crashing down. So many major injuries at once and the results slowly started getting away from us. I'm pretty excited to see how they play this weekend and how much of an impact Doherty and Hojbjerg will make.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Seriously, watching it has made me way more positive than I probably should be on the team haha

Leeds could be fun this season - they'll either gel and be great to watch at times, or crash and burn. Either will be great to see.

  13. Won some game decisively, won some from behind, had a couple grinders. I think Jose is doing well with them but I think we need another ST and CB to compete for top 4. We need a little more quality depth at those positions.

    That England team is awful.

3 defensive midfielder are playing, and he chose a Championship player ahead of Jack
Grealish. Everything about it says boring 0-0 to me.

There's no left-footed player out there for England tonight.

  17. Please stop playing Dier at CM lol

Sub Phillips and Dier and bring on Grealish and Mount. Why are we playing THREE defensive mids against Denmark?! There’s so little passing ability in our midfield.

This is poor. The two in the middle are sat too deep and are out numbered by the Denmark three. We seem to three vs three at the back, I can easily see us being over run. The lack of presence in the middle is seeing us struggle to get the wide men on the ball higher up the pitch. Kane has barely been in the game again. It’s like we’re depending on a set piece here. Would take Dier off for Grealish. Get him stood a bit higher up the pitch and provide a bit of relief for the CDM’s and have someone to actually run through the midfield.

Denmark are a much a better side then Iceland were and will probably punish us if we don’t sort this out.

Also the selfish part of me wants AMN to make his debut.

A goal and an assist for Martial in two minutes at the end of the half!

Southgate and Dier have one very important thing in common:

they are both not good enough and should be nowhere near this team.

  25. I still stand by Dier as a CB. He’s decent to solid there. But he’s not a good CM. And regardless, if he’s your starter you probably need to upgrade.
