The against his will thing makes it seem like he will try to use that to get out before the end of the contract.

They're holding firm to the release clause (which we only saw a sub, sub-clause to in the statement), which is tying his hands.

It appears Suarez to Juventus is happening, maybe even on a free--Suarez is holding firm that Barcelona must pay out his contract (for the love, he's got one year left like Messi--keep him on the bench. He's good for 10-15 goals.)

It also appears Vidal to Inter for "free" will happen and suddenly Martinez will be available at the exact price Barca can afford.

  4. City will pay the 700m, UEFA will ban them, then reverse the ban.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Use their American franchise to buy him and then loan him to City.

Squad numbers are all about feeling once you get outside the first 11 for me, the only exception being if I'm Arsenal, the number 14 is sacred and must be given to only the very elite.

I treat it as a real sign of faith if a player under 21 is given a number inside the top 20.

I signed a 3rd choice keeper late in the window in my game atm and gave him #99 because I don’t expect him to ever play and I only signed him because I accidentally loaned out all my youth keepers that could do a job. I felt dirty doing it.

I always save squad No.6 for deep-lying playmakers because Pogba & Thiago made it cool, sometimes even No.4 after Fabregas. Hell, if I'm feeling particularly "wild" I'll also give my AMC the No.5 like Zidane had at Real Madrid! The number has to 'fit' the players personality/style though - If I was United for example I wouldn't give Matic or Fred a standard midfield number like between 4-8, no disrespect to them but it doesn't seem right!

Tonali always gets #4 for me. Because I can’t help but sign him every time. #16 if someone already has the #4.

  10. lol Spurs and Wales legend recruiting Bale pretty hard the last few days

This will happen every window until he retires. Even then, I'm not sure that it wouldn't be a story.

See, my number as a kid was always #6 so I kind of love it on Pogba. But for me that’s a centre backs number through and through.

Messi is going to be feeling so miserable this season

  15. Barca make no sense to me.

They are in such financial troubles (they're own doing). Messi wants to leave. They could probably sell him for ~100m to City PLUS get his ridiculous wages off the books. But instead they are refusing to sell and he will leave for nothing next year. I don't get it.

Sounds like a perfectly normal season is up for Barca!

Makes sense from everything I have read. Will be interested to see if he leaves after next year. Don't really understand the move from the Barca side of things.

Messi makes them more money than they pay him. Messi’s farewell to Barcelona tour is money making gold.

And of course. They now have a year to convince him to stay.

Flights for their last home game next season (Celta Vigo) are currently $1600, which is waaaaaay more than usual. Hmmmm.
