Does Van de Beek remind anyone else of the Saves the Day singer?

  2. Fabrizo was on a Spurs podcast and they asked him about Dybala. He said it was basically a done deal until Dybala had a last minute decision to stay. So depressing haha that signing could’ve changed everything.

Kinda reminds me of the Cartel singer (Will Pugh) more than Chris Conley.

Also saw a report where his dad pushed back about the report of him saying they is a chance Messi stays. This is a wild ride.

Can he retire causing his contract to end, then come out of retirement to play for Real Madrid?

Lol. I loved Sanchez, but this is great to hear. Guess the grass isn’t always greener eh?

the full translation of the video is actually very fair and that line doesn't include all of the context behind it.

but yeah, that'll get more engagement. Mourinho was awful for us, really. The atmosphere was completely toxic by the time Sanchez joined and he wasn't putting in the performances regularly.

Oh yeah, I read the full interview, it's not as bad as it sounds but that is a really funny quote as an Arsenal fan. Spent 6 months having a strop, got his wish, and regretted it in one traning session and asked to come back.

    It's a sweet one.

To be fair I also wanted to stop supporting Manchester United after we signed him. What a dumb transfer.

    Mason has got the #11.

I have no idea what happened to Sanchez to be honest. He was absolutely terrible but not for lack of trying. He was in great shape, put his heart out on the pitch. But was just shite except for the game against City (made the transfer worth it all on its own). It wasn’t Mourinho because he was shite under Ole too when he played when we had that new manager bounce.

the conversation on redafe about that reminded me actually. I think it's criminal that Lindelof and Bailly have the #2 and #3. They're full back numbers!

The most important part of any FM season is the squad numbers.

Absolutely. My first team is always #1 - #11.

I have too much rotation for a first 11.

I totally didn't spend 10 minutes putting together a list of my squad number choices.

    1 - goalkeeper
2 - right back (maybe a centre back who can play right back too)
3 - left back (same as above but for left)
4 - defensive midfielder or centre back
    5 - centre back
    6 - centre back
    7 - right winger
8 - centre midfielder or attacking midfielder
    9 - striker
10 - striker or attacking midfielder
    11 - left winger
    12 - full back cover
    13 - back up goalkeeper
    14 - winger
    15 - midfielder
    16 - defensive midfielder
    17 - winger/attacking midfielder
    18 - striker
    19 - young midfielder
    21 - midfielder
    22 - defender
    23 - attacking midfielder
    26 - young centre back
    31 - 3rd choice/young goalkeeper
    34 - young goalkeeper

  21. Nick

    @fangclubb Prestigious

my differences would be #4 is always a defensive midfielder, or b2b midfielder if I'm playing without a DM. 18 is an attack minded midfieder and 32 is 3rd choice keeper and 23 for my best young attacking midfielder. Other than that it's pretty spot on.

my FM shirt numbers usually look like

    1 - goalkeeper
    2 - right back
    3 - left back
4 - defensive midfielder or centre back
    5 - centre back
    6 - centre back
    7 - right winger
    8 - creative midfielder
    9 - striker
10 - striker or creative midfielder
    11 - left winger
    12 - THE FANS (unassigned)
    13 - back up goalkeeper
14 - winger or creative midfielder
    15 - centre back
16 - centre midfielder or centre back
17 - winger or creative midfielder
18 - attacking player (either striker, winger or creative midfielder)
    19 - attacking player
    20 - attacking player
    21 - attacking player
22 - back up right back
23 - back up left back
26 - back up centre back
    31 - 3rd choice young goalkeeper
32~39 - first batch of young players making breakthrough to squad (usually 32 and 33 for full backs, 37 for a winger, 39 for a striker, etc)
40~49 - second batch of young players making breakthrough (usually after the yearly youth intake for the last couple of months of the season)

and then the younger players either go out on loan/get sold (no shirt number), or cycle up into lower shirt numbers

my favourite saves are in Japan on enabled databases, which often don't have real players (so they have to be generated), so my entire squad ends up being 16~23 year olds that I sell off for big profit to Europe, so player numbers always get cycled through. i don't play a lot of defensive minded midfielders (why defend if I can outscore) so there's a lot of creative players to number. I'm also the kind of guy who will take a shirt number from a player to give it to another player because they did better for me (like swapping a #2 with a #22 after a season), so there's often not a lot of continuity which I'm sure my players hate, but I try to give them preferred shirt numbers if it's not too egregious

    It seems that:

    1) Messi is staying to finish out his contract.
    2) Made the official response to La Liga to say "I'm trying to do this civilly but neither you nor Barcelona will let me" making #1 "against his will."
