Suarez is Messi’s best friend in the team. They live like two houses from each other. It’s far more about that (and his lack of speed as he’s aged, but as you’ve so astutely pointed out, 21 goals is an excellent return). He would be an invaluable bench player for the next two-three seasons easily. But Bartomeu is going down a-blazing and trying to force Messi out first so he’s not the bad guy in the situation. But literally everyone can see through it.

I would personally sell a kidney to see Messi play for Arsenal. Are Barcelona accepting human organs as payment?

They have history with Arsenal. They stole Fabregas's heart.

No Grealish in the England squadron. Dude needs to leave Villa.

Possible attitude issue with him as much as the Villa badge?

Good point. I forget about his off the field antics.

Could be good news for a team that's looking for him. If he was included I'd say Villa would have jacked up the price more.

I don't have any issues with that England squad, probably be different when Southgate picks the starting 11 though.

I take back my previous comment, no left-backs? Interesting formation plans. I'm assuming 3 at the back and the rest upfront?

    I do not exist.

I was just trying to figure out who was playing LB.

Do Trippier or Walker ever switch to the left?

Maybe Gomez, Trippier or Walker will have to go over to LB. Weird squad regardless

Edit: lol, beaten to it. Defence and Midfield looking real weak imo

Update: we lost 3-1 they hammered us for 75 minutes lol. We also conceded THREE penalties and Martinez saved two. Pepe was awful and got a rating for 5.6 lol, subbed him out for ESR for the last 15 and he set up a goal and almost scored two.

Just let me process this. If Koeman gets his way across the board with transfers and Messi doesn't leave, this will be his starting XI.

    ------- Martinez* -------
    --Coutinho-Griez-Messi--
    -----De Jong--Pjanic-----
    Gaya-Lenglet-Pique-Semedo
    ------ Ter Stegen --------

*or Memphis Depay, apparently, if Martinez falls through--not a fan of this back-up option.

With a bench of Dembele, Puig, S. Busquets, Roberto, Alba, Neto, Ansu Fati, Eric Garcia, new right back, Pedri (AM), Trincao (FW), Fernandes (CM), and O. Busquets (DM).

Without Messi, I'm guessing Roberto or Puig gets slotted in.

Vidal, Suarez, Rakitic, and Umtiti are guaranteed to be sold.
    S. Busquets, Alba, Roberto, and Pique are being asked to take a pay cut to stay.

Todibo (CB) can be bought by Schalke as apart of his loan deal, but nothing has been announced. Alena (MF) is coming back from his loan at Betis, but I can see him being sold (stupidly). Juan Miranda (LB) is coming back from his loan as well. Rafinha (MF) is back from Celta. Wague (RB) is back from Nice after they refused his option to buy. I think it's reasonable to assume all of them will be offloaded.

It could work. That starting XI is very strong, with or without Messi. We desperately need a CB (or two) and RB.

Thanks for coming to my @Swoos style processing post.

Mings used to play left back at Ipswich, but he's moved to the centre these days. Guessing he could fill in there.

We signed a youth players from Spurs a while back who seems pretty great. A CB who can play LB and RB, is ambipedal (naturally two footed) and just came out and said he's always been an Arsenal fan since a kid.

I REALLY want him to be good now haha.
