That's a treble for Bayern - Hansi Flick with a goddamn treble within his first year! Only got the job permanently in April 2020 :-O

I think being an Arsenal fan has conditioned me to have a grudge against Bayern, but yeah, I prefer them to almost any other "elite" club in Europe bar Barcelona (and Atletico if you count them these days).

Is Havertz worth that sort of fee? @orangehorizon I've never seen the fella play.

Great window by Chelsea. Esp if they get Silva. Sorted most of the issues with their first team.

  7. I just think spending that money on two CBs would make them a better team than blowing it on Havertz.

What 2 CB's can they get though? It's not like the market is flooded with good young cheap CB's. Havertz is an expensive buy but he's only 21(?), should get 10 good years out of him.

Really enjoying my current FM 20 game as Arsenal. Money isn't huge in first season, and Laca and Auba wouldn't re-sign, and you're predicted to come sixth.

Came third in my first season, one point behind City who were second, and two ahead of United who were fourth (Liverpool were 10 pts clear). Just coming up to Christmas and I'm unbeaten in the league and scoring for fun, and currently 5 pts ahead of Liverpool, who I play next on Boxing Day.

Expecting to lose cause my team should absolutely not win this league, but it's been going brilliantly so far. Pepe has me 20 goals in all comps by Christmas, and Martinelli and Nelson are having breakout seasons. I sent Saliba on loan for one more season and managed to con Barcelona into spending £65M on Auba who had one year left on his contract and wouldn't re-sign. Also managed to offload Ozil to turkey on a loan for his final year to Besiktas who offered to pay 30% of his wages.

Looking for a backup RB and someone to replace Lacazette if I sell him this summer. Been looking at Dembele or Edouard. Alternatively might move Martinelli up top and go for a HUGE signing at RW. I have the money.

    My team is:

    GK - Leno (Martinez)
    RB - Bellerin (Chambers)
    CB - Upamecano (Mustafi)
    CB - Mari (Holding)
    LB - Tierney (A. Davies)
    CM - Partey (Torreira)
    CM - Xhaka (Willock)
    RW - Pepe (Nelson)
    AM - Grealish (Ceballos)
    LW - Martinelli (Saka)
    CF - Lacazette (Nketiah)

Absolutely. He is the best German talent of the last years, by far. Kinda similar player like Ballack was, but stronger at headers.

I realize the end game here is that Messi does in fact leave Barcelona, but I'm also... highly energized by Koeman on some level? He is not afraid of the hard conversations. He's told Suarez, Rakitic, Umtiti, and Vidal that they're leaving this summer and he's told Coutinho to come back.

It's also very clear his plan is to switch to a 4-2-3-1 double pivot instead of the 4-3-3 of the last two decades. Very intriguing.

It could be a disaster, but seeing someone at least try to break the mold is interesting. I'll always love Messi, but I'll also always love Barcelona, even if they never should've become separate entities like I think they will. Bartomeu not immediately stepping down sealed that fate.

Maitland-Niles is moving to Wolves. Interesting signing. Hopefully we get decent money for him.

Edit: apparently only 20m. not great but if it goes towards refreshing the squad every little helps.

Love when people get the flight scanners out and the like for transfers.

I'll never forget Schneiderlin being confirmed for United after someone took a Snapchat of his blood sample from his medical haha.

  15. Well I guess they can blow the money on Havertz if they’re bringing in 2 CBs for free

  16. I’m not sure how much of a help Thiago Silva will be though. I remember a couple months ago when he was linked to Spurs all the Chelsea and Arsenal fans laughed. Now he signs for Chelsea and it’s good business. So we’ll see on that one. But I do like Sarr a lot.

  17. Sarr was the guy I wanted because he’s left footed and can play CB and LB well. And he’s still pretty young. I suppose we could be one of the other teams referred to in that tweet.

If he’s not happening, my top CB target would be Ben White. I actually like White better but he isn’t on a free lol

White looks like he has real potential though. He developed so well in his year under Bielsa. He plays like what Poch wanted Foyth to be. A pacey CB that can handle the ball well. Not overly strong but still aggressive in his tackling. Big fan of his.

    I do not exist.

    That’s hilarious.

One of my favourite things was following along to BBC’s live text coverage on transfer deadline days when everyone sends in random rumours they’ve made up. I remember when I had more free time back in my uni days that I’d literally sit on the computer following it all day and laughing along.

  19. Would United go after Suarez if his contract is actually terminated? I know most fans likely hate him because of obvious reasons but he’d be a perfect stopgap until Greenwood can takeover as the main ST.

PSG are inquiring after Suarez supposedly.

  21. I think Juve will try as well

Is it just age that is influencing the decision? 21 goals in 36 appearances isn't too bad, particularly considering his role. Isn't he good friends with Messi too?

I wouldn't say no to Suarez on a free if Lacazette decides to move to Juventus.
