He's literally been given everything he's wanted since he got there hasn't he? Is this still over that thing where he's saying they didn't back him publicly enough or something?

After today’s showing, Lautaro probably isn’t worth the money so Barca will sign him within the week.

Someone of reddit tried to claim Klopp, Pep and Mourinho were more important to football and the PL than Wenger.

it annoys me that people judge him on the final years and ignore the fact he literally revolutionised football in this country. He completely changed diet and nutrition, tactics, training methods, the use of data in scouting players, and much more.

Pep, Klopp and Mourinho being good managers doesn’t come anywhere close to what he did to modernise English football.

Wenger and Fergie are head and shoulders above any other manager in terms of importance to the premier league for me

Absolutely. Those two are so far ahead that no one else can even see them.

The other three mentioned are obviously massive managers in the league, but in terms of their wider effects, it's mostly just that they are important to the tactical evolution of the PL in modern times.

I would argue though, that it's not really any bigger than someone less successful like Allardyce, who did the same with a less attractive style of football.

In fact, Sam Allardyce helped popularise sports science amongst "proper football men", who looked at his use and realised it was a viable way to do things. People overlook unfashionable managers like him, but he's incredibly important to the history of the league and the evolution of scouting and networks and was doing all of this at a time when only a handful of managers (like Wenger) were doing it.

Big Sam is an underrated manager. I took the piss when England hired him, but he really was a very good manager. Far better than most of the other “old school” English managers.

Big Sam was an early advocate of data and analytics wasn't he? Bit of a reputation for Brexit football, but that Bolton side of his was great fun to watch.

  14. Poch was massively important for Tottenham but I think it’s a stretch to say he had the same impact on the PL as a whole (at least when compared to Wenger and Fergie). I’m getting close to the chapters on those two in the Michael Cox book I’m reading.

Poch is INCREDIBLY important to one club, but honestly that’s it. His failure to win anything, alongside the fact he isn’t really an innovator in any way as far as I can tell, means unfortunately IMO he isn’t in the conversation as far as the PL is concerned.

He’s just a very good manager, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Maybe his next job is where is makes his mark on a bigger scale?

Conte is another one. He won the PL, and kind of brought formations with three defenders back to popularism, but he didn’t spend very long here and it’s arguable other managers were experimenting with 3ATB again, albeit to less success.

  17. I agree with this, but I think Poch got a lot of praise/popularity because of the English players he developed. And that probably gave people the idea of him being important for PL more than just for Tottenham.

  18. Can’t believe I found a stream of the Spurs friendly.

Everton went 3-0 down in 10 minutes to Blackpool. End the club and end me.

  21. Sessegnon has definitely added some muscle.

Apparently a list of clubs wanted him on loan this upcoming season and Jose told Levy to resist any offers. I’m very curious to see how he develops. Jose said he will play in an attacking role for now but “he will eventually be a left back”. It’s weird lol

Finished my first season in FM there. City sacked Guardiola after getting to the final of the Carabao cup, FA Cup, and Champions League and losing them all and finished second in the league. Spurs sacked Mourinho after finishing 6th. Course hired Guardiola and City hired Ancelotti lol

Apparently Sancho’s cousin said he’s moving to United. I fucking love silly season and how many people go mental about bullshit like that.
